Vampire VS2 LP Project

So it's been a while a since I've had a Spyder in my possession so I've decided to turn it into a project gun. I use to have a VS1 and did a pretty decent job I believe with modifying it and getting it to run on lower pressures.

With this VS2 I'm going to get the pressure as low as I can as well as turning it into a "vampire" color schemed sex machine. Marker currently operates at ~400psi. Want to get that down to 100-200psi. Let's see what happens. Going to update this thread with pictures and progress so all of you people who love Spyders...enjoy!

October 18, 2012 - Day it got in my hands. Missing o-rings, busted bolt pin, missing a valve guide I believe, and a few more things. Breach is actually in great condition. Sorry for bad quality pictures. Will get new and better condition pictures soon.

October 19, 2012 - Prepping the marker body to get halfbacked. Trying to come up with a design but will be cut up today.

Stock they came through with a gauge that went to 300 psi. Most often times if you got them above 325 psi the valve pin would hang open and dump the bottle.

Good luck with the project.

Interesting. Do you know if the VS2 requires a valve guide? I received it without one.

sorry to disappoint Hater, but this gun can run at 225psi but works flawlessly at around 240psi. i have always had my pressure set at that and have never had a problem with recocking. while i think the rest of the project sounds good, cause this gun is a sleeping beast, the 225 is about the lowest youre going to get and have a working gun.

I'm pretty sure I can get it under 200.

October 22, 2012 - One side of the body has been cut. Still rough around the edges but will be cleaned up before getting it anodized.

Also had some time to polish up the internals. Could only get a good picture of the striker. Also polished the sear but couldn't get a quality picture to save my life.

Also debating whether or not to add two grooves for extra o-rings on the bolt. One behind the current o-ring and one in front of the air port. I'd like to contain as much as the air going through the bolt as possible. This should help me get the pressure lower due to air not escaping. Thoughts?

If I were you, I'd give it a go. Spyder bolts are pretty solid and unlikely to break and/or become unusable. The two orings look like they would contain any air pressure and send it the way you would like.

If it doesn't work out, you can just pull off the orings and cruise on down that way.

The additional orings might add to much drag on the bolt. Give it a try it might work out.

I would start with adding one in the front and take it from there...

October 24, 2012 - Finished up the halfbacking on the body. There is still a mark or two that has to be fine tuned with a file but I'll get to it before sending it off to be anodized. Majority of the marks that are there will be covered up during the anodizing process.

I thought about doing that in front as well. Still debating it. The dings might still be there but they'll hardly be noticeable in a dust white finish.

Will be drilling out the VA soon for added air flow as well as the valve body.

so far your project looks good! That new oring looks very clean and the halfbacking job flows nicely.
