The only reason some one would use a keylogger to hack a pbn account is if that person (the hackie) had really pissed off the hacker.

Basis for this statment:
It is incredibly hard to load a keyloger on another individuals computer unless you have physical access to the computer. Further more, it would be incredibly hard to retrieve the stored information the keyloger has gathered.

Faults a keyloger would have:
Most PBN'ers are "remembreed" by their computer so they dont have to type in their user name and pass every time they log in.
Many keyloger programs have a window that pops up upon startup.
It is not easy to get a keyloger program to attach itself to the list of start-up applications.

So for the most part, people only have to worry about phishers.

No I have two keyloggers that remain undetected until I hit ctrl alt K and then type my password. The free ones normally have something running in the toolbar. I even have one I can email out that is set to send me a log whenever outlook is opened. So yeah you could easily get someones password using a keylogger.

Most people also empty their temporary internet files occasionally so once they clear their cookies they will need to log in again. Most people use keyloggers for identity theft or to catch their spouse ****ing around.

That's why I don't use AIM or any other types of IM. Remember, AIM is for children and child molestors; PM is your friend!!

If you type your password, PBN automatically blocks it out.

Your computer still registers what keys you pressed, so does PbNation. That is just for people physically looking at your monitor.

My freind (eyedrop) got his account stolen. His account was from '04 and he had almost 9 pages of feedback.

He got an email, saying that PBN wanted him to be a moderator, it seemed legit so he filled in all the information, including his password. As soon as the person got his password, he changed passwords, changed emails, took off the original AIM contact info.

Then, he (the thief) made a post saying he has an 07Ego for sale/trade. Clearly trying to scam someone. And with the 8 pages of + feedback, it would make it very easy to scam someone.

So that is why.

this is prolly a stupid question... what does TL; dr mean?...

and secondly... stealing an account with feed back would be quite fun... and profitable until you got caught.

just remember kiddies, there is no reason a Mod would need your password... I don't know what is the backbone of this forum... but if anyones played with phpBB, an admin can simply change the password of any account... so a mod asking for your password would be kinda pointless... I would assume that the backbone of this would be similar. But of course not all mods have admin access, and of course the ones that do can be trusted with that kinda power...

edit*Backbone is vBulletin... I've never played with that... so I dunno... but regaurdless... !!bad monkey!!*/edit

but this is all kinda useless to me in the end... mostly because I have no feedback... so the only real fun thing with my account they could have is my bad *** sig... yeah nvm

It's a small re-cap for those who are to lazy to read the entire thread.

Edit: Exact meaning is, "too long, didn't read."
