Questions about Smart Parts Impulse 2005

I just bought a Smart Parts Impulse 2005:
This is a Used 2005 Smart Parts Impulse.
It is in good condition an shoots like new.
Some scratches but nothing major.
Comes with a Shockteck Bolt and Progressive Tournament Barrel.
Just Serviced by a Smart Parts Tech on 01/23/2010.

I also bought a Vlocity Hopper and 46ci HPA Tank

I had some questions from the veterans out there about the Impulse whether or not this was a vision? How can I tell and What should I add on to the gun like the Blade Trigger? or upgrade the board?

For one thing, seek for more advice in this forum, as they'll be better equipped to help you.

If it has vision, there will be a pink plastic cover on the right side of the marker under the feed tube, with a wire tracing underneath it. If I'm not mistaken, most of them had vision in 2005.

As for upgrades, that's entirely up for you, but I would suggest leaving it be and getting used to routine maintenance, learn more about the marker and how the upgrades will effect it, then decide how you want to improve the marker itself.

If it has vision, there will be an eye cover on the right side of the body. There will be a ribbon wire underneath it.

You bought this off of Ebay right? You should've made sure it had vision before you bought it.

Yeah I probably should have asked but when I was in the bidding and just barely read about the gun I wasn't aware of the vision option. Either way I am just beginning and didn't pay much for the gun. What is the cost to upgrade the gun to get the vision mod?

I don't know if you can find a new kit. I know my local shop still has one for $80 new. You can either post looking for one, or check the b/s/t threads to see if anyone has one or parting out a gun.
If you have a good hopper, I wouldn't worry about it. I played tournies and such for years and never chopped w/ a good hopper. I think the non-vision boards were capped at 19? or 22?

My outdoor is capped at 15bps. My indoor is capped 13bps.

13bps is very acceptable for todays standards. Decent rof, while somewhat conservative on paint allowing you to play for longer on less paint.

Okay so should I just chill on the upgrading and see if I like the gun and to see if its worth updating first? Is the impulse really that good that its worth upgrading?

Check the misc. bst section. there are a couple imp part outs going on right now. you could deck out your imp for $100 or less. As far as a good gun, well stock not good compared to todays standards, but a fully decked out impulse will compete with anything on the market today(except in weight and size, obiously.)

I have a question about the blade trigger are they all magnetic or some just a new trigger? Like what should the trigger come with when replacing it?
