Paths are just a more accurate, faster, easier way to make complex selections. Once you try paths, you'll NEVER use that stupid lasso tool again!!
FIRST: start with your picture:
SELECT paths:
SELECT the new path button (the sticky note pad):
NAME your path accordingly. I named mine reg body, because thats what I'm pathing right now obviously
THIS IS WHERE IT GETS HARD. Curving the path.
Now when you first make a new path. select the PEN tool. To make a VECTOR POINT, you first click where you want to start your path. A small square appears (these steps didn't show up well on my screen shots but you'll get it when you try ). To make a line, click another spot, and one more square appears, connected to the first by a line.
Now here's how you curve them! When making an additional point, you may choose to make the line connecting them curve. To do this, simply click and HOLD as you make the new point. While holding the mouse button down, move the mouse elsewhere, and let go of the button. THIS should happen:
The number 1 represents the knob that adjusts curve PRIOR to the point.
The number 2 represents the knob that adjusts curve AFTER the point.
TO ADJUST THE KNOBS: Hold your CTRL or COMMAND (Mac users) key and click and drag the knob! you will notice the curve changing its shape.
***ADVANCED TIP: For mac users, holding the ALT key while dragging will only effect the one side of the curve ***
-------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have your path towards the end of its cycle, you'll notice the cursor change shape when it gets near the starting point of origin. Clicking and holding will allow you to adjust the final look of the last path section's curve. Letting go will finalize the path.
A completed path will look like this:
-------------------------------------------------------------
MULTI COLOR EFFECT TUTORIAL (Animation)
Step one: Make multiple layers of what you want to be animated
EXAMPLE:
Step two: To change the colors, use the HUE/SATURATION tool. Adjust the hue and saturation sliders the most.
(found under the IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > HUE/SATURATION tabs)
EXAMPLE:
Step three: Open the animation window. (Found under the WINDOW tab)
EXAMPLE:
Step four: Make as many slides as you want to be animated using the new frame button (1). Select each slide one by one, and in the layers window (on the right side) choose each and every layer you want shown on this single slide (click the small box next to the layers. If it has a little EYE in it, that layer is shown. if not, its invisible). Adjust the time each slide is shown with (2). Use the controls at the bottom to preview your animation (3).
EXAMPLE:
It might sound really complicated but you'll get the hang of it
When you're done, make sure you select FILE > SAVE FOR WEB AND DEVICES and pick your settings. If im making something like an iPaint rendering, I use 256 colors, 0 lossy, and 100% diffusion.

Would you be able to make this an actual gloss black? As you can tell, I obviously didn't do a good job, and I don't have photoshop at home - so I don't want to wait till tomorrow to do some more PS'ing.
Whenever you get the chance is fine, I know you still have that mountain dew one to do.
(edit)
Oh god, I'm retarded..
