Looking for some opinions on comparable woodsball/tactical/milsim markers.

Looking for some opinions on comparable woodsball/tactical/milsim markers.

One of my markers I currently shoot is an Empire Axe inside a PE Etha EMC kit. Due to recent life changes I may need to sell her.

I'm looking to pick up a less expensive used G1/SP1 to keep the tactical feeling alive while still playing occasionally. Are there any other markers like the G1 that have a similar "feeling" shot like the Axe I currently own? I know that it's all subjective but just looking for input if there are other tactical/milsim markers around that price point I'm over looking.

Thanks for your help!

The G-1/SP-1 is one of the most recommended milsim markers for a reason. Purely based on bang for the buck, it's a great marker, and you'll have a tough time finding anything at the price point to compete.

Even though the eNMEy is a great mech I'll probably have to pass just due to aesthetics. Trying to keep it tactical/milsim so I can add a ton of useless things to weigh me down lol. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Lmao. I agree it resembles nothing to milsim
A5 and x7 can be made to look like AK 47 m16 and all these cool guns.
The gun that will shoot the most quiet and smooth closest to the Axe would be the Gog g1.

Personally, my next marker will be the Dye Assault Matrix in Dyecam. That thing is sick, shoots amazing (I was able to demo it), and it can switch between mag and loader with the flip of a switch (the eye pipe actually rotates). I dunno, I know it's a lot of $$ comparatively speaking, but it's Dye, and Dye's entrance into the tactical arena can only mean good things for the sport. Cheers!

As awesome as the DAM is that would be going the opposite direction of what I'm trying to accomplish though lol. When you pick yours up feel free to send me pics and make me a sad panda

No worries, but it does have a lot of rails on it to load you down, as you requested.

There's the Inspire BFG, but you don't see that one too often in the States.

X7 Phenom or the G1 seems like your best bets.

And yea, the DAM is definately at the opposite end of the saving money but it is one very nice marker. I love mine.

Is the mechanical X7 worth getting at all? Or is it the electronic version or nothing?

The X7 Phenom is both. In semi auto it is mechanical but put it into one of it's other modes it is electronic. That really is the route I'd go.

If I'm a semi-auto kind of guy and don't plan on using burst/auto would it be safe to consider the mechanical only version?

I would say no.

The X7 has a blow forward inline popette valve kind of engine like the 98 and A5. The X7 Phenom has a spool type valve which is going to be a much smoother design. It should also be able to acheive higher Rates of Fire even in semi-auto mode than the all mechanical X7.

Based on bolt design alone, the Phenom is the more advanced design and would be the version of the X7 I would suggest.

Don't bother with a Phenom, they are a bit picky. A good one is great but a bad one you will never fix and you'll never know how it is till you get it out on the field. I personally have a TM-7. I never have had a problem with it and if I am correct it very similar to the AXE internally.

Phenom is a good gun, but there are some that have problems. Mine had a bolt that was oversized. Shipped to tippmann and they corrected for free. Shoots perfectly now.

Also, the cyclone feed is said to be to slow when running modes. Mine is fine, but I know people who have upgraded it.

It looks like on ansgear there's a mechanical version of the phenom that's spool valve as well. I think I'll look for a used G1 still seems like its the best bang for the buck since I only plan on using it at a big scenario event here and there.
