Beer Connoissuers Discussion V.3 we don't drink straight from the bottle or can

I think the definition of connoisseur shall be of high importance to the basis of this thread.
Quote:
1: expert ; especially : one who understands the details, technique, or principles of an art and is competent to act as a critical judge2: one who enjoys with discrimination and appreciation of subtleties <a connoisseur of fine wines>
By definition, beers such as "Natty Light" are allow to be discussed, but only in the negative demeanor; although, any reviews are welcome, just to keep the thread in an orderly and welcoming manner.

Reviews, suggestions, favorites, overall positive, overall negative opinions are welcome and is the intention of the thread.

BREWERS: Yes, you lovable ****ers...we welcome your recipes, and opinions; PICTURES PLEASE. We love seeing home brew setups.

As a thread requirement, ALL posts should include the beer you are currently drinking or have most recently drank.

Missed a phone call from the manager at my local bottleshop saying he got Stone's Enjoy By 2.15.12 IPA. So gonna go pick up a few bottles of that tomorrow.

As for tonight I believe I'l crack into my 2011 Trader Joes Vintage Ale, by Unibroue. Was waiting for the first snowfall of 2012 to open it, but we just barely got our first snowfall tonight hah.

EDIT: Massive gusher of a bottle, probably lost 8 oz's or so. Oh well it was only $5 for the 750ml. Glad I decided to age a bottle of this, fresh the spices in it were pretty cloying, but with a few months of age on it, it's deffinitely smoothed out a lot.

That ****ing sucks man. If you wanna hold off on our trade until you can get some more space just let me know, I can hold your Abyss for as long as you need.

Just cracked into my first Enjoy By, and damn is this a tasty DIPA. The aroma on this thing is insane, I could smell the hops the minute I popped the cap. May have to go grab a couple more tomorrow.

I need to get another chest freezer and temp regulator. I'll still be heading out to Santa Rosa to get you some Pliny since I'll have a free day off on Monday and that stuff's meant to be fresh. I'd like to get it sent out either that night or the next morning so I'm gonna need your address.

I'm seriously pissed because enjoy by came to my area as well and I'm not supposed to be drinking.

Snagged a 2012 BCBS and a bottle of Boulevard Harvest Dance Wheatwine.

drinking the boulevard now, pretty damn good. ive really been enjoying the wheatwines when i can find a decent one. like an american version of Aventinus. similar clove and spice flavors from the yeast and wheat, but with some nice bright tropical and citrus fruit nostes from the hops they used. way to easy to drink for 9.5%, also the bright, effervecent golden straw color is decieving, as the beer drinks on the thicker, creamier side.

Harvest Dance is pretty good, I wish they'd brew it more than once a year. Probably New Belgium's Chocolate Coffee Stout for me tonight.

Might go on the beer hunt tomorrow. Everyone in the house has had a crazy stomach bug this week so no beer for days! (hell, not much of anything has been consumed)

Switching my Black IPA to secondary tomorrow and dry hoping. 2 more weeks to bottle!

Made the venture home for the weekend. Totally forgot I had the 12 pack from NE waiting for me so I bought a.bunch of local brews on the way home. Bought some more southern tier back burner, lefty's Ipa and breakfast stout, as well as some homebrews and lagunitas sumpin sumpin. When I saw the box I remembered what it was and it was like a kid on Christmas.

Bottled a new saison I brewed a little while back, which tastes amazing. Nice spicy flavors yet dry and a hit of acidity from the acid malt. Can't wait til its carbonated. Also finished a 5-liter keg of hofbrau oktoberfest in the process of bottling. Still have 10 more gallons that need to be bottled sooner rather than later, but that's not happening this weekend.

Time to decide which bottles I want to bring back to boston that NE sent me, then pack up the rest of my **** and head home so I can drink some more brews.

I take it everything was in good shape when you checked it out?

I went to a beer tasting which went from, 'I'm just gonna take it easy.' To me drinking more than I should have. Oh well, the **** the doc handed me said don't drink for two days.

debating about driving to RR tomorrow. had to replace the alternator in my now only car but the battery light was still on after replacing it and it tested fine according to another parts house. I have another one on order but there's about a 30 mile zone on the trip where I won't be within the free range for AAA to get me home. Black Tuesday is awesome but the alcohol is quite apparent on the back end btw. anybody other than Rattlehead want some Russian River?

Tup everything looked perfect. Funny thing is, eclipse made it to shelves here, but is all selling for $30+ per bottle. Can't wait to try some.

Also, I now have a **** ton of beer in my cellar, plus I'm already over capacity at my apartment. Time to slow down on the buying and trades for a little.bit.

I do, but I am still getting over what I paid in shipping on my Westy 12. What kind of stuff would I want (besides PtE) that they're likely to have up there? I can get Supplication/Consecration/Damnation here, but that's more or less it. Just how bad is shipping a half dozen bombers?

Edit: I'm also open to other stuff I don't get out here in PA. Not huge into sours, but everything is more or less fair game.
