RIOT Team Thread

Not a lot of the RIOT guys use PbNation, but I figured I'd start a support thread and an easy way for anybody else to contact the team.

We're playing in the MWXL event this Sunday at the PaintballPLEX in Indiana.

Then next Sunday (April 1) we're kicking off the 2012 season with tryouts. Anybody interested in joining RIOT should show up no later than 9 am. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask here or our Facebook page.

I have a question about the tryouts, I'm just starting to play again after like 5 years off. I don't think I'm good enough to make a team. However, I would really like to learn some drills/things I need to work on to get better. Would it be cool if I went to the tryout to learn some of those things?

If you have interest in making a team commitment whatsoever, come on out next weekemd. Otherwise I'm sure you could join in on some of our drilling and other practices in the very near future.

We can turn you into a tournament player. It just takes some practice and dedication, with some time and practice. I suggest you show up, we will be entering our team into entry level tournaments as well.

If you attend Iowa State, get in touch with the paintball club there. They're probably your best option.

Indeed, college paintball is awesome, I put in 4+ years and it was well worth it (<--national champ badge to prove it), but their season is almost over. We'll try to make a friendly yet competitive environment for anybody who wants to come play. After we get through tryouts, we'll be ready to welcome other teams to come play with us. Also, our season will be virtually over by the time school and the NCPA starts again.

Yeah, I'm actually an alum (school, not the club). I didn't join the club while I was there because I didn't have the money and was struggling with engineering. Honestly its something I really regret not being able to do. Now, I made it out, got a job in CR, and have tons of free time. So, once I decided to start playing again I've been out most weekends. A couple times at APP here in CR, I made the trip out to DSM and ICU once so far (Castro, I was the guy that you lent your Droid to for a couple games) and I'm heading to Ames tomorrow because they said they will have their field up. Pretty much my goal is to play as much as possible at this point.

We took 5th or 6th depending how they score the Quarters. Not too shabby for not having any real practices yet this year.
