Not really, it was just that SP went out of business before the impulse could sell very well, remember it was only out for a few months before SP declared bankruptcy.
SP's bankruptcy was due more to choosing the wrong bank than to poor sales.
However, that was back in 2009, and Kee producing a 2009 marker(which I don't think the JT imp is as nice as the 09 imp) in 2013 and charging the same price isn't a way to produce sales.
Though, the consumer is a dumb and predictable creature, simply by being $1,000 people will assume it is good and buy it en masse.

The impulse was a huge failure. The feed necks were weak, the noids blew all the time, and the reg system was garbage. SP did not go under until quite awhile after the release. They went bankrupt because of karma!

Well, they went bankrupt for the same reason so many people lost their homes(the banks failed). Was that karma too?

AKA seems to be doing just fine.
And considering SP has been out of business since August of 2010 the AKA hasn't even hinted of making a new gun says a lot about just how involved the owner is with his company.
Most of the products you use every day were made by companies built on the bodies of dead rivals. Paintball is a multimillion dollar industry and growing quickly, this isn't the playground anymore.
And lets not forget, your beloved Bob Long has had his share of lawsuits, sueing NPS back in 2007 to the tune of $400,000.

You need to catch up there Paper. AKA signed an agreement with SP that they (AKA) could never produce an electropneumatic marker again. Don't put this on AKA. SP wanted their AKA's markers off the market, and that is what SP got.
Karma's a *****. That's all I'm saying.

I stand corrected. I thought it was an injunction that stated they couldn't produce electro markers while SP was in business.

nope, it was permanent. even if it was only while SP was in business, AKA lost so much money when they were forced to stop making guns, they lost all of the creative genius that created the likes of the viking and Excalibur and prototyped the once legendary, now revived evil m...
long story short, even if they wanted and were legally able to make a new gun, It just wouldnt be the same without the original designers.

I am looking forward to medicare changing the reimbursement rules. I am sick of taking people past closer hospitals to ones twice as far because they have this crazy notion that their doctor will rush to the er to see them. Once people start getting billed hundreds of dollars for transports because they went 15 miles instead of 2 miles to the closest hospital they will stop being douche bags.

Most of the people who were related to the pb side at aka left..
Just because SP is gone doesn't mean AKA aren't bound to any contracts/settlements.
Edit: it has been covered.
