Offhand shooting.

I play off and on but Im hoping to start playing a lot more really soon. The major thing I have problems with though is shooting offhand. My offhand game is horrible and I know Im gonna get slaughtered at any competition other than locals and was wondering... Is anybody out there with the same problem. I was hoping for tips on routines, exercises and anything else that will help with this problem. Thnx

Honestly, just play with your offhand more and it will get easier. It really isn't any different.

^^^ Practice with it. Even while you are sitting around watching TV, just take out your marker and play around with it with your offhand. Me personally I am ambidextrous so I am able to play with both hands no problem, but it still takes some getting used to. Just practice and you'll start to get a better feeling for it.

^^^Sit in front of the TV and walk the trigger (I sort of pluck with my left hand) and aim around, etc. It's like anything else, the more you do it, the more natural it feels.

Don't just practice with the off hand at home, practice SWITCHING to the off-hand and back.

In front of the TV, while standing around, just walk your fingers in a nice solid stance and practice snap shooting to that side. Then swap hands (fast) get a nice solid grip and do the same on the opposite side.

As people said, it's not easy for most, but the 'method' is simple as pie, just do it over and over and you'll get it. It's not complicated, but it can take a while for people.

a great drill to do for offhand shooting is to wear a oven mitt to the field on your strong hand, therefore forcing you to shoot with your offhand... it really does work wonders (even though youll have to play unidirectional all day, so dont fall into a habbit of doing this too much, just enough to get you to learn to use your off hand)
