2017 MSXL/NPA Expansion Plans

The MSXL in partnership with the NPA will be taking the big show to the southeast region for 2017!!! We will be adding Central Florida and Atlanta as well as returning to Mid Ohio for the 2017 MSXL/NPA Amateur National Championship Series!

MSXL Events have heard your calls for expansion to the SE. We already have teams traveling from the SE to compete in the MSXL we are doing this for you! As always the players and teams voice is the #1 factor in all MSXL decisions.

MSXL the most paintball for your $$$ Anywhere!

2017 Proposed Events

March, Atlanta GA
April, Central FL
May, Nashville TN
July, St Louis
Aug, Mid Ohio
Oct, National Championships, Louisville KY

We are looking at counting your top 4 regular season events and the Championship being Double points! So your teams can compete in the 3 closest regional events as well as one away event. We will utilize the APPA registration and classification system along with the NPA National Championship Points system.

Don't forget the 2016 National Championships are only a little over 3 weeks away! Didn't make a regular season event? No problem you can still win all the cash and free paint we offer! Plus be crowned the 2016 National Champion!

I went to the MSXL here in St Louis this weekend and I was very impressed. This is a top notch league. I'm looking forward to them doing big things this next year.

Glad you're only counting 4 events! Looks like we most likely won't be playing until the third event though.

I wouldn't pay a $1000 entry fee for a regional event either. I mean holy ****.

I've never seen D2 do well anywhere regionally (10+ teams). There's usually not enough in each region. Maybe CFOA back in the day but I really don't know for sure.

That's real tough to pull off at a local level. What area has a dozen+ D2 teams ready to play locally?

When the prizes are as good as they are and the paint is as cheap as it is, it all evens out. Unless you suck, then it's expensive.

Ah yes. As everyone knows, if you don't podium in a field of 10-14 teams, you don't belong in that division.

I would love for paintball to move away from offering prizes for events. Give the winners a trophy and spread the savings to offer cheaper tournaments.

John talked about the lack of enough D2 teams to make regional D2 tournaments work, but I think that's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. The demands of a national tournament series limit the number of teams that are in a financial situation that allows them to make a serious run, discouraging the formation of D2 teams.

I think that promoting Division 2 at the local level could result in a much more robust number of teams participating in it. Locking it behind higher entry costs disincentivizes progression in a sport that is already seeing a logjam in lower divisions, and the resulting lowering of the bar (D5, even D6) in order to compensate. Promoting the mindset that everyone who doesn't podium sucks at the game sure isn't helping.

I go to all of the events and I can say all of this is true, with the exception of the reffing being the best in the business. There's always that one field that might as well not have any refs or it looks like someone is shooting confetti in the air because the refs are so flag happy.

NO Bounty attended the St. Louis Event, we didn't podium, but we enjoyed it very much. Reffing was great for the most part, paint shot nice, and venue was awesome. Look forward to attending more next year

I participated last year and it was pretty good. Only caught some action Sunday afternoon this past weekend and it was still a good show. Definitely recommend.

I stand behind my comment on the reffing being the best in the business. As matter of fact all of our staff has multiple years experience reffing Nationals and or the MSXL. When you attend a PSP/NXL historically you will get maybe 2-3 of this caliber refs per field in divisional play. We have 8-10 per field. No noobies ever. That's the difference.
