The shocker said "Spring 2003" and was released this year....

I really like it, but I can't justify the 1250 right now.

can anyone explain the Def-Tek feed system more in depth? any way to get an image of it? it's a bit difficult for me to grasp the idea of it from just the description.

what i get from it is that the feed is basically just off centered? is it curved? meh, a picture of this would really help.

ckrtazn018,

Def-Tek Feed System: The Way the Ego’s feed works is by slightly offsetting the vertical feed in relationship to the breech. This allows the balls a perfectly free path into the breech so as not to effect feed rate, but then deflects the ball against the far side of the breech, rather than the base of the breech, to stop it wanting to bounce back out. Even balls falling from a great height, uninterrupted, do not want to bounce out of the breech. They just stop there, perfectly chambered, ready to fire. Simple, yet flawless.

and by the angle of the pics, you can't really see any difference between a vert-feed and this. My guess is that its a little behind the breech, sending the balls on a sloped path rather that straight down. Or off cnetered a bit, kind of like a side-feed system.

how does that differ from a vert feed using a halo or reloader b there is real no chance for their to be any bounce or blowback using those two loaders.

um...what about when you get low on balls and there are only the balls left in you race way now your loader doesnt mean anything or what about when something breaks on your halo or your batteries die and you have to use your rip drive or the shake mathod?

the feed will help you out then and Im sure thats all happened to everyone out there before

1600-1700 shoots is good enuff efficiency for me, I haven't seen too many other guns shoot that straight out of the box.

when do you actually get low on balls in a game. 99 percent of the time u load when u aren't even close to running out fo paint and throw awya 1/3 of a hopper ast least.

From reading the description of the feed system, an anology of a vert ramp comes to mind.

The feed neck is slighty to the left or right(not sure which) which causes the ball to fall into the curve of the breech(much like a skater on a vert ramp coming down onto the curve of the ramp). This makes the ball's momentum change from straight down to slightly towards the side wall of the breech at the last moment(the ball would be almost completely in the breech before it hits the curve of the breech I believe). Since it isn't going straight down, it can't bounce straight back up. To do this they wouldn't need it to be drastically off center, just ever so slightly.

It's a clever idea and I believe it will benefit egg users a bit more than halos since eggs have more free falling balls(as opposed to halos which are under tension). Though I don't see any problems that Halos would have so we shall see what consumers think of it.

The feed is offset by a couple of millimetres to the left side of the gun. The skate ramp annalogy is spot on. And yes, those last few tumbling balls in Halo can be a real killer, as they tend to be flung down the feed rather hard and bounce like mad.
As for the efficiency, we like to use accurate and realistic readings. So, the numbers quoted are actual balls fired, at 295 fps, from a 68 45 pre-set filled from a scuba tank to 4500, and not topped off. Basically as you would use it at a tourney.
I can tell you it shoots 2500 rounds if you like, and I wouldn't be lying. Although I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with the 220 fps velocity you would have to shoot to achieve this.
