Been there, had that discussion. I think we both walked away seeing the other's side, but agreed to disagree. Most of the time atleast.

I've had it with some of my yuppie co-workers as well as family. Where I live is vastly different than most of the state I live in.

Also the best arguments are always about the bear hunt. People who don't have to deal with them on a daily basis just don't get it, at all.

I have a few decent bucks that are moving during the day. But the big boys are still nocturnal. I'm hoping they slip during the rut. I've got 3 that are running around that are worthy of a shoulder mount

Nothing I have is worth a shoulder mount but there are 3 on my land that I would shoot. If I shoot two Ill stop and let the 3rd pass on his genes.

We only have 1 buck tag here, so I'm hoping if I luck out one one of the studs, the other 2 make it through.

The past couple years I've been doing some management, and letting the small bucks walk. You can say I've become more of a trophy hunter, but the results are unbelievable. 5 years ago we didn't have anything worth mentioning, and a handful of does. Now I can count 25-30 does regularly coming out at night in the field, and the amount of bucks is pretty awesome. There are (3) 10 points running around, and (4) eight points, that are also shooters. But there are also a few really young deer that are showing serious potential.

In my previous years if it was brown, it went down. But as the years have passed we stepped back and looked at the possibilities that could happen with letting the population grow, and decided to try it. I'm happy with the results, I know a lot of places it's hard to make it work, but if you can do it, go for it.

How much land do you have and how much hunting is going on around you? I got 90 acres to work with surrounded by retarded rednecks who will shoot anything. I gotta take what I can and try to keep the poachers out
