Looks to be colored vapor deposition. The same process used to create the Aurora finish only in specific colors. It's the same process used to do the black "chrome" special edition Mini's.
Looks amazing but too bad he didn't have my Trigger anodized to match.

This is most likely the correct answer. At least that is what it looks like to me. It's a titanium vapor deposition. Depending on what chemical is used you can get solid colors like above or the aurora finish that everyone has seen.
