they are if its sub-5 feet. which happens ALL THE TIME. or if the field is a 295 field.
I understand what he is saying, Im saying that the distance doesn't matter. Lenses are rated to 300 FPS. If a ball starts less than 300 FPS, than it can only slow down. and therefore never exceeds ASTM standards. Distance is irrelevant to how fast the paintball is traveling when speaking about impact points. 285=285, or 240=240, regardless if the ball took 3 or 30 yards to get there, as long as its under 300 FPS its well within parameters and the ASTM safety standard isn't degraded at all.
Thats what I don't understand.

EDIT:
Watched two more, one in with they shoot each other at normal, safe speeds, and their part two conclusions.... Later in their Part two conclusions, They go on to say "they appear to be just as safe as paintballs (at similar speeds) and with equipment like masks."

not that that wasn't mostly pseudo-science any way.

Makes them look cool! and maybe a scope would actually affect the game unlike all the other "sniper" markers

Looks like garbage. Someone would have to pay me to lug that thing around a paintball field.

Anyone look at the mass of a FS round vs a regular paintball? Last I checked, that was pretty important in Physics.

If this gun would make you stand out less then you must have some crazy people at your field.

I have to commend them on this one, not usually into the whole Mil-Sim thing but this is darn sweet.

Like others have stated I worry about cost, if it costs as much as an Ego per say, I dont know how well it will do.
