so I just woke up from my much needed slumber. Every place will tell you to go home and take a 2-4 hr nap. It really is necesary, and i'll go back into that.
So i get to my appointment today at 3:00 and there was a lot of people getting it done (guess friday's are very busy), you're debriefed on how to take your drops, and schedule your 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 month post treatment visits (with Lasik Plus), this is important, because much like a jewelry store with a lifetime limited warranty, if you don't do these 4x sessions youll have to pay out of pocket if you ever need a "touch up" (which you probably won't need anyway- but still).
I was finally brought to the back and around the corner, and into the "laser-room", we'll call it (which is strange, because all of the outside waiting guests/patients can watch you get done- kinda weird, but whatever). There was two beds you lay down into, and they're very good about telling you every second of the way what they're doing (which i don't remember all of the details to) but the most uncomfortable part about the procedure is not the laser itself but the suction they use on your clamped eyes which not only keeps your still, but more importantly flattens it; it literally fels like they were plunging, and flattening my damn eye ball! It didn't hurt, but it was just uncomfortable and weird. The process was 10 minutes roughly total.
The nap is needed because you're eyes are just blood-shot red, and the numbing drops start to wear out and this is the painful part; i'm suprised i was able to fall asleep. Imagine getting shampoo in your eyes and you can't use a towl to get it out. My eyes were stinging/watering like crazy. once i woke up, the stinging wasn't so bad. Just feels like i had a call of duty marathon without blinking.
We'll see how tomorrow goes. When i left the clinic, it's a little strange because it looked like there was fog all around. oh and yes, you will smell what seems to be your eye being fried but he explainined it in a way that made sense, said that the laser wasn't even hot, its like a chemical reaction to the light and it was like blowind dust off surface, idk lol

well that's all for now but let me know if you have any questions.

Well followup exam: both eyes are 15/20. I could make out maybe 2 out of the 6 in 10/20 which is pretty darn good.

Thanks man, appreciate it. Just figured some fellow ballers out there probably kicking around the idea. Im surprised no one has posted a similar thread. I gotta tell ya, it feels wonderful looking through my old glasses, just blurry as hell, and tossing them in the trash. ;-)

Saw this and thought I'd post, I for those still interest. It's been almost a whole year since the surgery. Everything is still A' okay. Vision has leveled out at 20/20; though I can see some of the stuff on the 15/20 scale, and its be a struggle. There's a difference, not blurry just too dang small.
One thing that did take some getting used to was going to sleep and waking up and reaching for my glasses lol. I I'd also find myself talking to someone (usually at work), and I would push my glasses up, as if they were falling off my nose (I guess just a habit I did when I had glasses).
Kind of like when you get your first hdtv, and everything is extremely amazing, and but then the appeal wears off... Now I can't even imagine how I lived without corrective surgery.
For those considering this tax time or holiday season, and I'd say we'll worth the money. There's usually no interest options for the procedure, and ask yourself this, how much do I spend on contact solution? Like my wife, she spends a lot.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Well considering that you're awake the whole procedure.. It would've been considered sex since it wasn't forced, but unfortunately not. Lol

I was considering this but I really dont want to ruin my eyes or anything. So many people seem to get it done okay though so I am pretty sure this is not a legitimate reason. I guess I could still ruin my sight if I were to not properly clean my contacts and got an infection. But thats something I can control so idk I'm probably going to end up doing it soon though

Glad everything worked out for you.
I wear glasses and i hate reaching for them in the morning.
I also understand the pushing them back up. They always fall down when i look at the floor lol. Not to mention i got drunk and now my glasses are crooked because i fell off my bike and smashed them. Had to re bend them.

This procedure sounds awesome but i don't have the money for this.
I'm glad there is another solution.
Does this procedure last forever?

It will last until you start to lose sight with age my doctor told me between 40 and 50 which is normal because your eyes would get worse then. Till then yours eyes should be good
