Will a torpedo reg work for a clone?

I bought a used v2 clone the reg is all wrenched up and I was about to buy a new reg but before I spend 75-90$ I realized I had an older bob long torpedo reg laying around.

Would one of these work with a clone? I read somewhere that these regs and even the new bob long regs are rated at 200-600 max output psi....I just couldn't imagine this reg flat out not working on my clone.

Anyone have any experience or info?

Do yourself a favor and order a violent series SL3 (LP version) and love it.

If the torpedo reg runs 200-600psi then it will not work for the Clone. You need a reg that is capable of putting out around 100psi.

Gladiator consistency is great, but the bottom works aren't as robust as some others. The seat in the SL3 is flippable, the adjustments aren't as finicky and the output is rock solid down to the last drop of air in the tank. I am not a PE fanboy at all, but I think they make the best reg out right now.

I am the same way, so I understand the sentiment but it is a truly great reg. It is a little longer than the VX gladiator, but not a lot. The lines also flow pretty well with the gun so it doesn't really stand out.

md makes the best regs man. the sl3 is a really good consistent marker but there is absolutely no point in wasting 80 bucks on an sl3 when you have a vx reg. the vx reg and an sl3 are so closely designed.

In his original post he said he bought a V2 which actually has an RX reg on it anyway, but it was "wrenched up" so he is replacing it. The SL3 is cheaper, more reliable, parts are easier to get and it is just as stable as a gladiator. I know that people hate on PE, but they make a fantastic reg.

Yeah, it's like $80 but the VX was around $100 when I was looking.
