ive seen a lot of you guys asking how to dye a mask, so im gonna try to help you out. to start off you must have:
- mask or mask items (white or any color lighter then the dye)
- acetone or nail polish remover (for maks with clear coats on the them like the flex 8)
- toothbrush
- powder or liguid rite dye (available at walmart, cvs, walgreens etc.)
- big pot (to boil water)
- disposable tin, bucket plastic container (must be big)
- rubber gloves
- newspaper
- tongs
- paper towlels
to start gather all your supplies. put on your
rubber gloves and start taking the clear coat off using
acetone and a
toothbrush, poor the acetone on the mask and scrub until the clear coat is off. then, open the
rit dye and read the diections supplied, put water in
pot, then once water is bolied pour into the
tin, bucket, or whatever you got. then pour the the rit dye in the
bolied water (more dye = darker turnout). carefuly put the item your dying in the solution. about every 2 minutes keep checking on the color of the item, if you want a darker color leave it in there longer or visa versa.
once you are happy with your turnout you can take the item out of the solution with your
tongs and let it dry on
paper towels. once the item is dry wash of excess liquid and your ready to roll with your new custom dyed mask!
