For those who haven't used FX Anodizing before, I swear by Marios work, and I have trusted him with rare markers and prototype parts that are truly irreplaceable, and I will continue to do so going forward. This is my first time posting feedback for FXA, but not the first time I've used their services.
I used to use PK Selective, and then AcidRain Paintball exclusively. When they had both gone out of business, I went to several other "big names" in paintball anodizing and had terrible experiences with slow turnaround, bad communication and subpar workmanship. Thank god a friend recommended FX Anodizing; that was the start of a good, and I hope long, relationship.
The quality of workmanship from FXA is top-notch; I have sent in markers and parts to go from matte to gloss, gloss to matte, and "beat" to "sweet" - I have yet to be anything but amazed by what I get back. Most important, communication is never lacking - Mario answers messages and emails promptly and thoroughly, pays attention to what you want done, is up front with his thoughts on a project and his abilities, and gives regular updates. The turn-around time has always been amazing me - I was used to waiting weeks (sometimes months) for projects to come back, but FXA gets it done quicker and better.
This frame was milled by Manny at Shocktech prior to the development of the SFLs - similar to a set of UL lowers but with more cuts, and much more light weight. It's truly one of a kind. It was originally matte "shock blue" but the marker was destroyed by the 2nd owner and only some of the parts survived. FXA took it from dust blue with some wear to a deep, rich glossy black. It's simple, and it's perfect.
As with everything FXA does, this is fantastic work - a rare BPS Twister body style which had a tough life and lost its original finish, as well as acquiring some serious wear. Mario brought it back from the grave with a classic matte black finish that really shows off the cuts, and made it look like new again! Again, a seemingly simple scheme but truly an amazing job - this was an especially difficult project and it came out better than I could have ever hoped.
