New NON Magfed Marker from Valken

Behold the "Meta"

Don't know much about it yet besides that it's proton based. Good to see more magfed interest.

Well that's pretty cool-looking, though the magazine seems too small to hold more than 5 rounds. Perhaps it's the battery pack, or a purely decorative element.

Overall, the marker pictured reminds me a lot of the Dangerous Power M3A1, though it's clearly a different marker.

Apparently it is in fact magfed. That's probably the dummy Mag, or a small one for FS.

I wonder if theyll follow the style DYE went with to switch hopper to mag or if it will be a barrel twist option like Tiberius. Interesting enough to say the least

Hopefully it won't be a case of yet another proprietary mag. Would be nice if maybe it was DMag based. Or maybe different lower receivers to allow for choice of mag.

*edit*
Now that I think about it, if this is based on the Proton platform are we sure its magfed? In the proton the board is in the foregrip. I wonder if maybe the "mag" is where the board would go in this one? It doesn't look like the frame would have enough room for a board.

Good to see Empire is entering magfed
It would have been nice to see them relocate the stock position more like the DAM for better ADS though from the pics it looks like the flip up sight may accommodate for this

Wonder if it will have a tank in stock option.

By the picture, it appears to be internal gas lines from the ASA. Unless they come out with a separate model with a tank in stock, it's unlikely.

I have always liked the look of these guns, but have always wondered by the C02 tank is never incorporated with the shoulder stock. Is there a safety reason for not hiding it in there? Or is it just not done because it would limit the ability to adjust the length?

For one, putting the tank in the stock complicates the design and disassembly of the gun because it means the stock is in the way of the internals sliding out freely from the back. It's easy enough to have the stock unscrew or lift out in this situation but it's much more complicated if an airline has to be routed back there.

I think a bigger reason is that a lot of users simply aren't going to want to use the stock. CAR-style stocks aren't designed with paintball masks in mind, and it's nearly impossible to aim down the sights when using this kind of stock because you can't get your cheek close enough, necessitating the use of a very tall sight riser for clearance.

Using the tank coming off the grip as the stock is a far more ergonomic setup for players wanting to sight down the top of the gun without taking their mask off.

That makes sense, never thought about it. Thanks!

I have been looking at this thing, wouldn't it have been cool if they had taken there mag fed gun and moved the hopper to the stock like Empire did. This would eliminate the hopper sticking out the top and give it even more of a milsim profile.

Just a thought,

Bart

Of course, if they wanted to that they would need a loader engine strong enough to drive the paint into position.

Having owned one, I can say that the V-Max is definitely not up that challenge.

isn't that why Gino has a R&D division, I would bet they could put something together pretty fast. Hell I could probably do it in my Garage in all reality , and come up with something.

There is a ton of technology available to the home tinker now a days.

All I was saying is it would have been nice to see them do something like that, after its on the market now, and I wonder how long it will be before Dye or Tippmann dose something like that?

Well DYE does have their Boxrotor, which is an interesting solution to the same problem.

It would be neat to see if Tippmann ever tried something new, but they seem pretty married to their Cyclones.

Well

with tippmann and Gi together now, maybe something will come out of that mix up. I understand tippmann not wanting to change something that has worked for them for so long, but maybe new ideas will come from them.

That dye box loader just looks awkward as all hell on that gun, I still think Dye could come up with something better too.

I Guess I am one of those older players that just wants more.

Valken is going the right route, but I just wish they would go that 1 step further and come out with a Killer product that everybody said wow, thats way better then option A and B

this is not magfed. i believe the board is in the mag as it's proton based. also it is supposed to fit most AR platform based handguards.

That means I win!

Regardless of it not being magfed, its a decent looking milsim electro.
