Etha Poppet Spring Failed

I have a Etha with only around 4000 round through it. The Etha was working great up in tell today. After trying a new battery and re-lubing the engine, I tried changing out the poppet spring. I noticed that the old one looked slightly kinked and much more compressed than the new one from my parts kit. After replacing the spring the gun is now back to running great. I have attached a picture of the old and new spring for comparison. It is hard to see the kink in the old spring from this photo. The photo does not do it justice. My question is this... Is this preventable? Can I change something to get better life from the poppet spring? Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

It is not preventable. PE says it's just a small batch of springs that will do this. Nicky has stated they are testing a springless poppit assembly.

its normal for the spring to compress. it doesnt affect the marker one bit. Now if the spring bends that will cause problems

Paintballwizard88,

Sorry to read about your Poppet Spring failure. The best thing that you can do is to register your Etha for warranty via:
https://warranty.planeteclipse.com/site/signin

Once you have done that please contact Gerry Bates in our Rhode Island Service Department and he will gladly send you out some replacement Poppet Springs for your Etha.
