As it gets warmer, I'll have a better feel for it. Right now though, it is proving it's worth.
I need to get a walkaround for my 50D, the 50mm isn't wide enough.

Came out good. All of the 70-200's are really sharp.

What settings do you usually use for paintball? (Outdoor)

I was told by many of the guys who shoot paintball to do:

F/4
1/800-1/1200
ISO - As low as possible
AI Servo

the 50mm is rough as an everyday lens (I think we have the same 50mm... f/1.8 or something like that?). My next lens will be something wide angle but I probably won't go with more L series glass. B&H has a few used wide-angle lenses that have caught my attention.

I want to take my 70-200 to the zoo and walk around there with it.

Yeah, I'd love to have the Canon 17-55 F/2.8 IS, it's around $550. But I'm trying to save up for the V-Geo. I may get the Tamron or Sigma version to save some cash. I'm also thinking just to add a few primes instead. L Series glass is

I use my f/ as low as possible (so I will go f/2.8) and I use AF mode (arpiture mode) on my lens with the ISO as low as possible. The mode will auto-detect the correct shutter speed as well as make the target pop out of the picture better with the DOF. I have not played much with my AI, but I will this year.

They said that 1/800-1/1200 brings out the paint splatters and dives very nicely. You could probably you TV mode and set the shutter speed to that, and then it'll set your Aperture to whatever. I set mine to F/4 because that's the fastest my lens can be set to.

I was talking to Carl the other day and he mentioned he uses a Sigma lens on a 7D he picked up and likes it. I have considered getting one of those too, but I'm saving pennies now for a Mac (which I should have at the end of the month thanks to a small bonus from work... February has been good to me) and a new camera bag.

I also picked up a flash last week (Speedlight 430ex) and that is pretty nice too.

This year, especially early summer, will be interesting for learning for me. I used the aperture mode the second day of the 4-man on and I think the pics turned out awesome. We will see though. The f/whatever setting is all dependent on the lens though.

Some of the sigma lens's are very nice, some have focusing issue's though. Mac's are , especially for photo editing. I got a bag from B&H which is nice, but I found it to not be big enough. I'm probably going to get this: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Deluxe-B...04433&sr =8-1

I have an old speedlite 380 EX that needs to be upgraded. I want a 430 EX II or 580 EX II

I would eventually like to do a PSP event, but mostly I want to do whatever I can to help the local fields and teams out and help grow paintball in Nebraska.

I dunno. I just started using those settings towards the end of the year, I liked how they came out. But either way it looks pretty good.

I talked to one of the photo companies who attends a lot of events, I could get a media pass (to even PSP events), it's just a matter of getting there though.

Andrew if you want this guy's info let me know, he could probably hook you up if you decided you want to shoot Chicago.
