**The Luxe Polishing MOD**

This Mod was created to get the most performance out of spool valve guns. It was first created as **The official Shocker Engine Polishing Thread**. With great results in the shocker community, I was approached by many Luxe users to also do a Luxe version of this mod.

Huge thanks to member “Red 1976 corvette” for his testing and willingness to try new ideas.

What I have done is a sort of micro honing process that loosens up your parts and creates better O-ring tolerances between them. It also makes these parts glass smooth for a more consistent and smoother cycling gun.

Same concept as the upgraded Dye hand polished "Billy Wing bolt" that they for $100. But now for the luxe.

My personal guns and many other spool valve gun owners have had great results using gun oil or a mix of gun oil and paste based lube after this mod has been performed. Try both and see what works best for you.

This mod will (very slightly) bring your bolt down in size (.068 - .067 example of down step) and your firing chamber up in size. In most cases your O-rings that are on your parts can still be used. But in rare cases better fitting O-rings might need to be installed after this mod has been done. I find the correct fitting O-rings for your parts if they do need to be swaped out, and I also include extra o-rings and instuctions on how to propery fit these o-rings. No more tight fitting o-rings ever again!

Contact me for more info.

What will it do? (with proper O-ring fitment)
Greatly reduces FSDO. (First shot drop off)
Eliminated Lube based drop off issues.
Makes o-ring fitment a breeze.
Lowers functioning dwell.
Better air efficiency.
Allows you to use gun oil as a lubricant (very little is needed).
Lowers your input pressure.
Helps with cold weather problems.
Prolongs O-ring life.

Need to keep this informal or you will have issues as I have had with my efrod thread. Back on topic, I can see this helping fsdo but if the luxe had a lpr, which it doesn't, it would be a much more valuable mod. Polishing surfaces can never hurt unless to much material is removed. The slicker the better.
Edit- Are you polishing the inside of the bolt where it rides the guide?

Yep - I always make sure to keep a thread on topic and informal. If people want it done they know to contact me. I have always used spool valve guns. They have always had these problems. Working on Dye guns next. Too much work right now to look at lpr set ups. One day.. I wasn't even looking at luxes at first. This really was just a demand by luxe owners.

I spin the bolt and remove the material. I have my methods to make sure the same amount of material is removed. I did have a "how to video" up for some time also. I was getting way to many people emailing and pming about questions. So I deleted I them.

The luxe is very similar to a shocker in its firing method. Any issue's that the shocker has ran into the luxe will also see. To date, I have seen one or two O-ring related issues and that's it. Since then I have custom hand-picked O-rings to fit your parts to eliminate any O-ring issues. Progression doesn't happen unless people are willing to try something new. The more Luxe owners have this mod, the more results we shall see. I would not have posted this thread unless I knew it worked already. Check out my shocker post, I think it's on it's 12th page.

Very nice. Makes me want to get a LUXE.

Can you do this for Clone or NT?

I would be interested in having both done.

wow...sounds good

wonder what DLX thinks bout it

hey...i wonder if you did that....and then got the bolt ANNO'd

i know they make special anno's that deal with all sorts of stuff...like for lube...heat

i'm pretty sure planet eclipse does this for the geo's bolt ....

so if you did ur polishing procedure....then did that slick anno that PE does...that might fix the tolerance issues and oring issuses

i' know on the high horse power honda's i build i always get my piston tops treated...it's a anno that helps with lubication and heat
