Would you consider adding an eigen barrel to the mix? I'm curious to see how it performs because in previous tests by punkworks, it seemed outshine mist others?

Really good stuff, when you do the "sound" test will you be using a decibel meter?

While a video is also cool its a known fact that the mics on cameras can skew the results since they are typically auto adjusting.

Yes I have a dB meter and I can shut off automatic gain control on my camera.

How do you measure the back sizes? From where the back threads into the marker or where it threads into the front of the barrel?

So if you measured the Death Touch barrel back from where it threads into the gun, it most likely will show a bigger bore then it actually is because of the beveled ramping area in the first stage in the barrel. Or am i wrong? Correct me if im wrong.

For barrels that are double male threaded (like the disruptive) I measured both making sure any bevel does not throw off the measurement. The disruptive does have a very large beveled area but it is the same measurement on the other non beveled side as well.

Hey I have not forgot. Between cold weather, bad paint and high winds I did not get a chance. I am hoping to do it Saturday. Unfortunately I don't live in an area where I can shoot my gun at my house and the nearest outdoor is about an hour away.

In the mean time though I have been playing with the barrels so I can give more in depth info when I wrote a final conclusion after the sound test.

yea the weather this time of year in this area isnt really the best… but what you're doing is certainly appreciated.

since you have been playing with them… are you leaning towards one over the other at this point? and im sorry if it was posted and I missed it.. but what marker are you using for these tests?

The gun is a Macdev Clone VX.

- I have shot an Ultralite plenty of times over the years I have been playing and it is what my brother shoots on his gun.
- I have shot a Critical as my personal barrel for about 2 years up until this test.
- The Shift came with the Clone and I have shot it a bunch as well.

The 3 that are new to me are the Furious, Disruptive and Fuse. I played a couple of times while alternating between these 3.

These 6 barrels are really some of the top out there and the differences are not all that large. It really depends on your goals for a barrel which one is the best for you. Each one has its own unique selling point though differentiating it from the others.

When I post the conclusion it will obviously be much more indepth but there is no real short answer as to the best.

Why test efficiency if you're not really testing efficiency?

If you run every barrel at the same pressure (not touching the reg) whichever has the highest chrono readings will be most efficient. The only thing is variation in bore size can skew results. Like I said before I included that data just so you can see the data of each and do with it what you choose. You can make educated guesses from it.

Problem is bore size affects results by a lot, so calling it an "efficiency" test is very misleading.

I don't know how many times I have to say it. Do what you want with that chrono data. It has already been brought up. I am not claiming that it is a complete accurate efficiency test. It is the chrono numbers from each. Data to look at. If you don't want to look at it then don't. You can, however, make educated assumptions.

And no it doesnt effect it "a lot". I included the largest to smallest bore in the fuse kit to show that the chrono difference is not as large as everyone makes it out to be. It was ~15 fps from a 0.680 to 0.691. Simple interpolation is that a 0.001 bore size change is only a ~1.5fps difference.
