To be honest, I like it when you find someone willing to continue an actual conversation and pepper it with insults. As for me, I'm cynical as hell and my honest opinion is that we're not going to continue to see the kind of prosperity we currently have indefinately. I think civillians should have access to millitary level equipment (outside of fully automatic weapons) and especially armor piercing rounds. I don't think it's *likely* that we'll ever need such a thing, but to be totally honest I wouldn't say it's too far outside the realm of possibility either.

I honestly don't see why we don't have access as it is. The "bad guys" have a free pass to use them on us, so why don't law abiding citizens have the ability to access the same fire arms? Armor piercing rounds are somewhat of a phantom however. A fully jacketed bullet with enough "omph" behind it is similar and can penetrate some body armor.

I think there was some confusion on your criticism of what I said. I was only addressing a comment about weapons classifications, and the poster I responded to even agreed with me. In fact, I didn't even bring up my background until someone called me out. I didn't just "spend some time in the Army", I was a weapons specialist and trainer. I have also done contract work, and trained on foreign weapons. I am obviously going to get pissed off when some guy calls me a "****ing idiot" and says i'm lying. I know there's not really a way to "prove" my credentials here, but come on... I don't deserve to be disrespected like that. If you read my other posts in other threads on ST, you would know that I am legit. But seeing as you apparently only come in to spout off bull**** about guns, I guess not.

Yeah but like I said, I'm pretty pessimistic and don't think "some body armor" is as comforting as a tungsten round that can penetrate "pretty much any body armor".

more than the Level3a, but less than level 3 i am assuming.

its a relatively small round...55gr-75gr but travels at blistering speeds of like 3000fps

I never said I was SF. I am RGR tabbed and have been to sniper school. I'm on a break of service to finish college, and am going to reclass to intel this summer when I return to AD.

even though apparently what I say doesn't matter... but IIIA itself won't stop a 5.56. It may stop a ricochet or angle shot, but you need ballistic plates to stop them at that velocity. I'll be quiet now and let the experts talk.

i've been to sniper school also...ranger tabbed as well. 3 deployments in iraq and afghanistan. Im on break right now, going to reclass to small arms repair when i return to AD... 6 confirmed kills


see how easy it was for me to be badass?
