I read most of the pages here but what I see is some comments that just don't add up to making paintball more of anything. Here's some thoughts on what I would do.
1. Get more people into tournaments, have a better state wide beginer tourney series where the entry is free or cheap, paint cost down, and during this time have better players do clinics or help out to teach the newer players.
2. Mid level to pro tourneys need seed money, NO sport I have ever competed in at a decent level grows much while you are only playing to earn other players money. The ones that do better seed the tournament with outside money.
3. Prizes at most locals are either lame, not needed, or any more are series long prizes.
4. Education, both by fields and store owners, demo days, training days etc.
5. More speedball fields, when there's one speedball to 4-5 woodsball what do think people play more. Also we need a huge push for more indoor fields so people can play all year long.
Just a few thoughts for now.

Vegas is this weekend, how about the bigger picture, what would you change about the main paintball circuit in making it more enjoyable for the fans?

alot of people would disagree but i say put all wreck feilds strictly semi auto. The reason i say this is i go to the wreck feild every weekend and everytime i see a kid get 20 balls to the back. That kid will most likely never come back. This is killing the industry so lets stop it. My local feilds are stopping it now. I dont care about speedball i think that speedball is fine the way it is.

i hope that semi is capped ...uncapped semi can mess up new players more than 12.5 ramp

They just beat me to it. When I play uncapped I can easily hold a stream of 18bps out of my left and 19 in my right hand. So on uncapped someone's getting messed up much worse

I think lower prices would help out a lot where I live. The average income is pretty low, so most people in my town can't even afford to play. I'm bringing some friends paintballing next weekend and when I told one of my friends to bring about $40-$50 for paint, air, and a rental marker, he looked at me like I was on drugs

I'm 14 and I work. My weekends consist of cutting grass, pressure washing, and weedeating. I earn enough money from doing all that to be able to afford to play. I don't see anything wrong with getting gear for Christmas, birthday, etc. But when a kid walks up to mom and dad on a random Tuesday and says "buy me a new Ego 11" and they go get it for him, that annoys me.

I don't know if I've seen anyone actually yell at a kid because of the gear he is using. But I know what you are saying.
Am I jealous that you just got a gun that I have been saving up for a while to buy? Absolutely. Will I look down on you because you have it?
Maybe.
It all depends on your attitude. Do you act like you deserve it and show boat that you've got the latest and greatest? Or are you humble and actually appreciative and recognize that you are very very lucky to have something like that?
The first? Yeah you've got what's coming to you.
The second? You're a ok in my book and I've got a certain degree of respect for you.
I think if you look the next time you are out playing, you'll see that only the punks from my first example are getting yelled at and looked down on.
Also, I will just say that I started working (under the table, but its still work) at age 12 and have been ever since. So it's not really an excuse.

Trust me, I've tried. My parents are the kind who like it done perfect, or not at all. Ive offered to wash their car, cut the grass, wash the house window, but theyed rather pay people. Dont ask me, i have no clue why. And I don't brag, but I garentee you if someone tells me I suck and my gear is the worst, they get what's coming. Lol.

I don't do that. I got my dm13 for Christmas, my dad helped me out getting my axe (I bought a proto slg and flipped it for profit and he lent me some money) my reflex rail was for good grades, and I bought all my clothing with be money.
I don't really like to brag. And sometimes even after I get the stuff, I have sort of a guilty feeling.

^^^You covered any argument I had against you, but what does waking up at 5 have to do with working after school? Also, why the freak do you wake up at 5? For me, 1st period starts at 7:45, so I wake up at 7...

I'm not trying to attack you here but...
Working around the house (mowing the lawn, washing the house/car, taking out the trash) was expected of me. I didn't get anything for it, nor did I expect to get anything for it. Doing chores was my way of giving back to my parents who fed me and gave me a bed to sleep on.
Don't offer your own parents to do things for money. Go around your neighborhood and ask your neighbors if they need anything done. Make fliers with your phone number and contact information to put in gas stations asking for odd jobs. It's not difficult. Kids now a days just aren't as interested in putting in the effort.

Coaching. Coaches ought to be on the field targets to keep it fair!
