Hey everyone…. I have given this some serious thought over the past several months and I have decided that this upcoming event #5 at the Edge will be my last MPS event. The reason for my decision is because I no longer have free time in the evenings and on the weekends to effectively promote this series and make it grow into what it could potentially be. Since I originated the MPS five years ago, I’ve became licensed in my profession and became a LEED AP so my personal goal within the next few years is to dedicate more time to work and eventually move up the ladder. In addition to work, my children are getting older and their sports are taking up a lot of my time in the evenings with practices (I’m coaching my son’s little league football team) and on the weekends (games every Saturday).
Please know that I do NOT want to see the MPS die! I want to see it continue on and to grow! I feel the time has come to pass the torch onto some other worthy and capable person that could take the MPS to the next level… new blood if you will with new ideas. I am currently talking with a few individuals on if they are interested in taking over the series for the 2010 season and I’ll let you know what comes of our conversation. If these people decide not to take over, I may be asking some of you who are worthy to take over. I will still be around and you may even see me play a few MPS events in the future.
The reason I bring this up now instead of after event #5, I want to ask all the teams who are on the fence about playing this upcoming event to go ahead and play! Let’s make my last MPS event a good turnout with a fun and friendly environment!
Sad to see this happen. You have made this the best series this region has ever seen. I hope you find somebody worthy to keep it going. Good luck in the future.
