Thinking about getting a lifeproof for my 5. How is the screen response with the plastic cover along with clarity of screen and cameras?

I'm between the lifeproof or just going for the otterbox commuter. My iphone has been naked since launch, about to case it up for future resale.

My wife has a lifeproof which is way better than her Otterbox Defender. Not to mention the Otterbox failed when she dropped it water and was 2x as thick. Screen response and camera are fine I don't notice and I'm pretty picky about things like that since I don't use a case at all.

I had a lifeproof case on my iPhone 4 since the pre-order release. I liked it for the waterproof feature, and because it made it thinner than my Otterbox defender. However, after I got my iPhone 5, I was set on not buying another overpriced tupperware case again. I hated the glossy screen. I prefer anti glare screen protectors, but if I wanted a clear screen protector... there are better clear screen protectors out there, or I would rather have it naked. I had the revised front screen that eliminates the rainbow effect, but the rainbow effect shows over time. Reading the iPhone 5 LP case threads... it appears to have the same issues. The baby powder trick works for a little while, then it comes back... but not as noticeable. At least the OBD's built in screen protector eliminates rainbow effect. Even the sceen protector that comes with the OBC case is better than the lifeproof screen.

I really like my cheap $16 speck case because it keeps my phone thin and light... and it give a little more protection than the thinner cases like the power support air jacket. I've dropped my phone a few times... and no harm done (so far). It's a temporary case for now. I'd like to get a bumper case in the future... and protect sides and back with skins. The iPhone 5 is a sexy phone... so I don't want to cover it up with a bulky case. The iPhone 4/4s made more sense to me to use a bulky case because I am a phone dropper... and both sides were basically glass. But after seeing a lot of iPhone 5 drop test vids on YouTube... I don't think bulky cases are necessary.

that is a pretty cool option for clear iphone


as for the lifeproof, i liked the size, and the waterproof option, however all 4 of mine eventually started to leak after about 2 months. lifeproof was very fast about replacing them, but still a little frustrating. also, the screen response takes maybe a day or so to get used to, but it is nothing horrible at all but it does reflect light a decent amount which was a little annoying for me at times. for pictures, i didn't notice a difference, but when i would video bonfires with the friends it would make a glare in the video when watched

I'm going to order one and try it out... I've always liked the look, and most say good things about the case. What would look better on a black iPhone 5? Clear or smoke?

I've the clear /smoke ones are slipper while the black and white ones have a textured soft plastic feel

I don't an option for black air jacket cases on PSUSA website. I only see white, clear, and smoke. I don't want white... so I'm left with the other 2 options.

Unless you are talking about the silicone jacket... but I don't like soft flexible cases.

$100 though is pretty pricey as i felt the $50 for my lifeproof cases was a lot. but doesn't matter as i dont use an iphone anymore

I said I would trust it more... but I'm done with bulk and waterproof cases. I was thinking of switching because it looked like jailbreaking is dead... but I playing with friends droids apps that I use on my iPhone is making me rethink. They don't notice anything, but I can feel and see differences when comparing. I'm not closing the door on jumping ship... so I'm going to play and test more in the future.

i thought i would notice a big difference when i switched, but with the apps i use the most they are almost exactly the same so it wasn't a big deal for me. and the widgets are something that i really like a lot. but i am sure if i would have gone with an iphone5, other than paying $400 more than i did, i would be happy with it
