It depends on what type of marker you use, what type of play you get involved with. If you are doing more of a woodsball (slow play) then Co2 will be fine with any mechanical marker. If you have an electro then you need to use HPA. If you are going to be playing more Speedball/Xball then yes you want HPA.

HPA will help your consitency which will help your accuracy. Also if you like the sport and want to upgrade to a better marker HPA will stay with you.

also consider if you regularly play at a field where you can easily get refills its worth it, but if you play out in the woods on private property its usually easy to use co2.

Always go with HPA. It's cleaner, more consistent, and better for your marker. And it'll be cheaper in the long run, as most fields don't run all-day CO2, but do have all-day air, which saves a lot of money.

This.

CO2 will fluctuate with temperature, HPA will not. If you live in a warm climate year around, this is less of an issue, but if it gets below 50F often you will lose pressure and tank longevity. Also, CO2 will often blow dirt into the inside of your marker which can score tubes, nick o-rings and damage paint. HPA is more expensive up front, but will serve you better, more consistently and be cheaper in the long run. If you can swing it, I'd take it over CO2.

I used to have tons of C02 tanks and it was fun. Up until I looked back at a video from 10 years ago. Then noticed about 5 times per game we would stop to say got to check the air and most of the time it would be out. Then later on that same year I got a new gun with HPA and lets just say the difference is amazing. I will never use C02 unless it's a gun under $100 and that is even iffy. The consistent shooting HPA allows over C02 is unmatchable.!

HPA (and it's not that expensive, either, frankly.)

-Less stress on marker parts
-Orings will tend to last longer (I know the whole anti-siphon gig, but there's still some buildup.)
-Free refills (or cheaper by A LOT)
-Can refill at home or at any sports store/scuba store
-lighter for the same or greater volume
-shot to shot consistency
-more environmentally friendly
-there are good tank covers
-more ergonomic, no cold shoulder

CO2
-buying the tank new is cheaper

I don't know anything about the environmentally friendly, but there is NO way you can get more shots-per-pound with HPA than CO2. The math simply isn't there.

You are correct but why are your quoting Yelosno? He didn't say anything about "shots-per-pound"
