Yup. Shave them so they'd be flush with the body and use a Dremel or even a drill press to get that rivet look. That's absolutely what I'd do.

i would put Electrical tape on the top of the eye cover (to prevent slipping by the bit), then take a white or grey sharpie to make your dots, could also use a stencil of some sort before hand |

I saw a super nice complete RL on ebay just now in case youre still looking for the last few parts. It has all the piping (even the qlock), the eye covers, and all matching parts and ano except for the dye asa. just thought Id let you know

appreciate it! but people dont like to part their RLs pieces haha but ill give it a shot...
i have 99% of the parts i need so shes nearly complete. i just have to shave the sides of my virtue eyes a little bit so i can install the eye covers |

i wish they made custom boards you could program to say whatever you wanted when turned on. ie the luxe, RL shocker board, etc. mine would boot up and just go "muahahahah"
