dang, I remember your old threads. Good to see you're still going with it.

Just wondering, what is the rationale behind "get rid of the harness before you kill yourself, or atleast get a weld in roll cage"?

I know it's not DOT approved, but isn't a harness safer than 3 point seat belts anyways?

touché

I only have one good reason as to why i have not tinted my windows. Because i plan on swapping to lexan in the back. Tinted front windows lexan back and a clear windshield would be dumb.

Sweet Volvo! I love the IPD bars and custom suspension setup. About how much drop did you get with that? (if you measured fender lip-ground beforehand)

Edit:

Fender flares are custom sheetmetal, he did a v8 in the back

You can find a lot more about that car on swedespeed.com

they are saab 9-3 struts they are about 2.5" shorter than oem i shortened the strut housings and when i weld the top plates in it will be about 3" shorter than stock. I think i have lowered my car about 6" or so lol im not sure. Measuring from ground up would be affected by tire height.

They are, if i did not explain to you, why, you would say its retarded. Turbobricks is very experimental. That guy is running 600lb springs in the front and maybe 250lb springs in the back. 25mm swaybar in the front no swaybar in the back. So you can see how a car set up like this might favor understeer. Well we all know that increasing track width increases traction and stability. So when you put all this together you keep the solid axle planted and as independent as possible while maintaining a balanced feel.

If you roll a car and the roof gets crushed, you can duck to the side if you're in a 3pt belt. If you're in a harness you'll get crushed by the roof instead of being pushed to the side.

The front with 1.8" adapters. It barely clears the strut housing and when i say barely i mean. When i spin it it rubs up against it a tad bit. So looks like these will work great in the back and are to small for the front. Hopefully .2" is enough to clear everything up front. This puts the wheel pretty far out and its already poking with the 1.8" adapters. So i unbolted the fender brackets and decided to see how flexible it really was.

NOT RIDE HEIGHT my car is much lower than this, this is full droop.

This is with an 8" spring ill be tossing a 7" spring in.

Before fender pulling

After fender pulling.

The back with 1.8" spacers. This is with the axle on stands so its pretty close to ride height.

So hopefully these tires are stretched enough to clear everything.

So its looking like this.

Front will have 2" spacers and i need to install 7" springs the fenders will need to be pulled and new brackets will need to be made.

Back will have 1.8" spacers i will need to hammer the lips in as flat as i can get them and i might end up cutting away at some of the sheet metal up in the fender. I can see where my current tires have been rubbing and i know that if they have rubbed then these will be 10 times worse. The back is going to take a lot of cutting and hammering i think.

Worst case scenario i have to get smaller tires and stretch more.

I would just grind the lip off touch up the inside rather than roll it. Its considerably easier.
