Under the Dome

Anyone read it yet? I'm interested in getting it but not sure if I would like it or not. Never read a Stephen King book and haven't really read any horror novels.

The stand is a book for you.

This book also intruiges me and a local shop had a nice hard cover for 35% off

I'm weary of newer Stephen king stuff though

The Stand didn't sound too appealing to me.

The idea of a town cut off by a dome sounds just awesome though. Honestly have no idea if I would like it though

I might just rent it.

about 200 pages in, so far pretty good. although a little drawn out.
probably wouldnt be the best first stephen king book to read. i would second vote the stand.

I'm about 250 pages into The Stand.

It's REALLY good so far.

Nah. I put it on hold at the library. They said 7 people have it before me so I have plenty of time to read The Stand, 1984, and this Halo book I got. Hahahaha.

I will post my opinions on it once I read it though. It sounds really interesting.

had a sick day from work yesterday. now about 800 into under the dome. so far so good. kind of has the feel of needful things. tons of things going on with different people, so it seems kinda slow but is a great read so far.

finished under the dome up the other day. heavy read but it was a good book. some serious mayhem going on

I'll wait for softcover, but I've been on a real Stephen King kick the last year. I was never a fan before but he writes in a style that really sucks you in. I have an English degree so I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but he and Grisham write great airplane books.

I just could never get into King's writing style, but I'll admit that for someone to write the things he's written for as long as he has, and to keep it fresh and interesting like his latest seems to be, well it's impressive. I have a copy of The Stand with a bookmark tucked in about a third of the way through lost somewhere in my pile of books.
