I'm sure you know what you're talking about more than me, but I feel like crying because you lost a football game against your most hates rival for the 4th year in a row is a lot different than killing someone in combat.
Did you like Restrepo? I liked it a lot.

But there is a difference between after a football game is over, and when you are in live combat, when the offense comes off the field it's over all you have left is a bunch of time to sit and think about how you ****ed up. In live combat there isn't safe time. I think it's apples to oranges honestly.

I was just thinking this... might as well not even have the other two guys there...I'm sure they'll get to Te'o and Klein, but jesus, the presentation is half over already.

If Manziel hadn't of won, the Heisman would have lost all credibility.

Restrepo was alright.... But many military dudes (myself included) view it, then are disgusted at how that unit's leadership operated. There's a small bit in the movie where a commander states that he did no homework before getting there, "to keep an open mind". That is the first sign of trouble. When I go somewhere, I do hours and hours of research, with the knowledge that there's a possibility less than half of what I read is bull****. If someone can't keep an open mind after researching, then they just suck.

A very good friend of mine was there right after that unit left, and has crazy PTSD from it.... and had very few positive remarks about them.

Responding to both posts:

Bearing is bearing, whether at a wedding, funeral, football game, or in combat. Having a breakdown is not something you do in public, especially if you are in a leadership position. When one of our guys lost his legs from an IED, we had guys wait four hours to have their pity-parties (in private, once back from patrol). An inability to do that, and the fact that he kept crying for somewhere around 15 minutes.... That's just bad news.
