There are several ways to make a great signature to sell your gear.

Here are some tips that I have found to get the most out of your signature:

1. Links: You are limited to 500 characters in your signature. This means that if you have a link to your BST thread like this: https://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...9#post41637479 it will take up 62 out of your 500 allowed characters. I would suggest using the website TinyUrl.com. The website changes your 62 letter URL into a small url like this: http://tinyurl.com/5mp5r4. The created url only has 25 characters, less than half of the original url.
   
2. Spacing: The key to getting the most out of your signature is spacing. Take my signature for example, I use | characters to separate links:
   
   
   
   
   This is very effective because of the limitations on lines, your signature is only allowed to be 5-8 lines long. To do this, put the | character between each of your url tags. In this picture, the yellow lines represent the "|" character.
   
   
   
3. Colors: When using the "|" Technique, I suggest using 2 different colors if you have 2 different links to make it easier to tell there are 2 links like so:
   
   
   
   When using 3 links on a line, use 2 colors like so:
   
   
   
4. Sizing: Using a variety of sizes uses up a lot of space. I suggest using 1 uniform size for the whole signature, placing one size tag at the very beginning of your signature and 1 size tag at the very end of your signature instead of using size tags along every link.
   
   Important Items-For certain items that you really need to sell, make the color stand out, red usually works wonders. Also, if you have space, use the bold option.
   
5. Wording: I found that keeping wording short, yet using very descriptive words works very well. For example, if you were selling a Diablo Wrath, instead of having the title: "Diablo Wrath for sale, I want high end markers, click here!!!!!!!11!!@~!!" or the title: "Wrath", use a title like this: "Wrath FST, Bring Highends"
   
   
6. Abbreviations: Because of lack of characters, use common PBNation abbreviations such as F/S (For sale), F/S/T (For Sale/Trade, upped(Upgraded), WTB(Want to buy), 07(2007), Mag(Automag), DM7 (Dye Matrix 2007), Timmy (Intimidator), reg (Regulator), etc

People would be putting huge *** pictures in their sig. And it would be another thing that spammers could do...

Its just an overall hassle the mods don't want to have to worry about, I don't blame them, when you change your sig, it changes everywhere you post.

Someone could post in 100's of threads then change their sig to a pic of goatse, everyone would see it.

After the recent ASM incident I doubt they are looking to make a new fleet of mods. Also they arent getting paid to run this site, it isnt their job to go around monitoring 3000+ people's signature pictures. If you want a sig pic so bad make one, host it on photobucket, then make a link to it in your sig and hope someone clicks it. Its not all about what you want buddy and every suggestion you can think of has already been brought up, disputed, and decided against.

Honestly i was expecting something much different and was just going to say "A good sig is a matter of opinion.", but it does give some helpful tips.

But i do just find it funny how some of you are like "Thank god, now these noobs will learn to make sigs because i dont like how they look.". Like they will read this thread anyways .

I think it's more like 7. I myself have 6 lines.

When you have a link, press the hyperlink button, right next to the picture of mountains and the colors option, press that, delete the http:// then copy paste your link. It will come up with your link in url tags then your url again. The url again will be highlighted. Put in your text in place of the highlighted text.
