Need help with tank/gun

ok i need your help. I have a diablo wrath paintball marker. It says in the manual the pressure should be between 200-250. I have this tank http://www.procapsdirect.com/p-159-d...83000-psi.aspx

Will I be fine to just hook it up and adjust the gun reg settings???? maybe it will get the pressure low enough???

your tank is outputting around 800 psi right now. I would recommend buying the low pressure kit or your tank, that will knock your tank down to 450 psi output. the page you have linked mentions their low pressure spring pack, sounds like that's what you want.

It may work on HP (800 psi) but I'm not sure.

the pressure coming out of the regulator will be fine with whatever tank you use.

the 200 to 250psi is the HPR pressure not the tank pressure. You are fine with that tank

Ok thanks guys i thought it was the HPR pressure. So basically for setting that up i have to adjust the reg to get the guage on the gun to 250 psi. Then adjust the velocity until i reach around 280-290 fps. right????

The HPR controls the FPS. So it may not be 250psi exactly.

well the Hpr is on the bottom of the reg, and the velocity adjuster is where the ram air chamber is on like a spyder.

I know the velocity adjuster is where the ram air is in the front of a spyder

nope. the velocity is controlled by the pressure being output by the high pressure reg, which is adjusted on the bottom (it is important to note that the reg in the picture is not the stock reg, that is an evil detonator reg). for the stock reg, turn the screw on the bottom all the way OUT to cut off all air, and then turn it IN in small increments to increase the velocity to whatever you want.

you may be referring to the lpr, which is the black regulator running parellel to the barrel. that should not be adjusted to adjust velocity. both the hpr and lpr are regulators, but adjust the hpr for velocity change. good luck.

You should really refer to the link I listed above, and read over the owners manual as it seems you do not have a understanding on how this marker works..

DONT TOUCH IT! changing it wont really change your efficiency, and chances are a gun like that might not accept the lower pressure, if you want to experiment with it you can, but its not worth it

Yes, LP should be better for your gun. Is it mandatory? No.

What will it do?

Your gun will be more consistent when shooting, and may seem quieter/smoother when shooting. Efficiency may increase, but not exponentially or anything like that.

Just get some allen keys, some gun oil and have a day with the gun. Take it apart, inspect it, learn how it works, put it back together, then do all the chrono-ing and tuning necessary.

You can leave the tank in hp, and the lpr will cycle it. I don't know of many guns needing lp to start besides angels, although some claim its better if your tank starts at lp if it can, I haven't found it to be true yet

the benefits of an lp tank have been shown pretty consistently. Improved efficiency, less stress on the hpr, less drop off, quieter.....see yelosno and gamer565's posts for the correct answers about what you should be doing.

That thread and links should answer just about every question you have... I use the method mentioned in the link to set my velocity, back out LPR to flush, and HPR all the way out.

Gas up marker and turn HPR in till gauge reads ~250psi.

Turn in LPR 1/4 turn at a time till shooting 280fps.

From now on, adjust velocity with HPR. This should give you good efficiency and be gentle on paint.
