The only reason you might get a Tippman in the first place is the price of the 98 custom. The A5 is overpriced. I assume you play woodsball, but if I were you I'd look into the Smart Parts Ion because it is not annodized, it is powder coated so you don't really have to worry about it getting scratched so much (plus the shell is composite, not aluminum). $285 new.

The A-5 is the best gun I have ever owned!! It is amazing in my opinion I love it, in my opinion the A-5 is not overpriced at all. for $219 you dont have to buy a hopper either which costs around $40-$150, the cyclone system feeds as fast as you can shoot, it will never chop! I still havent, if you dont use really really bad paint. The A-5 is a lot easier to take apart than 98 Custom, 98 Custom is good but deffintely not as good as the A-5.

I highly reccomend getting the A-5 over 98 Custom, it is a lot better I think.

i personally like the 98 better because its cheaper for one and it can be customized to no end...theres so many parts and accessories out there for this gun...from tatical kits to total speedball...98 is a good choice

If you're going to buy a Tippman, save the extra money for playing and just buy a 98c. If you want speed at all, buy and Ion or a Wrath.

Disadvantages of Tippmans:
No eye system
Slow ROF even with double trigger
Purely mechanical (this can also be a benefit sometimes)

Advantages:
I suppose it's good for woodsball? One misconception that people have is that you don't need to shoot fast in woodsball. Actually, because of the range, if you shoot 10 balls you're a lot more likely to hit someone than if you shoot 2. Generally, people don't take their mid/high end markers in woods because their anno gets scratched. Up to you.
