Saw a movie last night from 1973 called Badlands. It was pretty cool cause it was very similar to Natural Born Killers. If you like NBK you should check it out if you get the chance.

I just got netflix so I watched a bunch of movies this past weekend.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil- 8/10. Was a lot better than I expected. Pretty funny.

13 Assassins- 8/10. The ending battle was epic, it lasted for about 45mins. If you don't mind subtitles, I would recommend checking it out.

Daybreakers- 6/10. Not bad, I like how its a different type of vampire movie.

Aeon Flux- 9/10. I know a lot of people think it's garbage but I really like this film. I'm big fan of scifi movies, so that's probably it. Plus Charlize Theron is smoking hot.

This was my second viewing and my friend and I had the entire theater to ourselves. I liked it even more than the first time.

Watched quite a few lateley..

Born 2 Race: 9/10
I rated it higher than I think it's really worth. Why? Because I feel it was better than your typical angsty racing movie. Quite a few things weren't perfect, like him being so angry for nothing and starting a standard car without engaging the clutch.. But I liked it. That's what counts. I could see how, if you get bothered over the small things, it would piss you off pretty quickly.

Division III: 7/10
It was alright. Funny, quite funny at times. A little too, "saw that coming" for my tastes, though. Plus, the story line was not developed at all. And the people around the main character see him different than the movie portrayed him to be. Took me a bit to get down what it was trying to say.

Survival of the Dead: 6/10
Not quite as good as the other movie of the dead. The story line was bland and boring. But plenty of good zombie killing to make it worth watching. Ending somewhat bothered me.. It was so obvious what she said.

Land of the Dead: 8/10
Quite enjoyed this. Read this was a series and wanted to see how the characters progressed only to find out what kind of a series this really is. Very much enjoyed this movie. Romance, zombie killing, and plenty of storyline.. Loved it.

The Long Weekend: 9/10
A movie with some T/A and a decent storyline to boot. One of the funniest movies I've seen in quite a while. I HIGHLY recommend this movie.

Celebrity Sex Tape: 6/10
It had some story to it, but that was not the point of watching this movie. Plenty of t/a to keep the wondering mind busy. Would recommend.

Recent ones:

The Avengers: 7/10
Well produced but hindered by a very predictable storyline and the entire flying carrier bit was contrived.

Open Range: 8/10
Great immersion, strong acting by the main characters but the appearance of their wounded friend during a gunfight in some sort of stupor was very pointless. In addition, parts of the gunfight left me thinking "lol wtf he had no trouble shooting accurate before and now he's just spraying into a water tank".

Unforgiven: 8/10
Apart from the schofield kid being a terrible actor as with the plight of the scarred prostitute being really just "i don't give a **** you're just a prostitute what did you expect", the movie was really well done. Eastwood's character developed gradually back to the killer he was rumored to be and the sheriff showed he was not much better than english bob.

Casino: 8.5/10
I hate anything to do with Joe Pesci as he can't do any role other than "I'm a short little idiot italian with anger management issues and yet no one bothers to just shoot me despite me killing dozens of people". So I just watched it to see him done off and sharon stone OD. Speaking of Stone, she was almost too good at being a crazed addict *****. Her obsessions with money was like a hurricane trying to pry its way into a city.

9th Company: 6/10
Good photography and one of the rare glimpses into the Soviet side of the late 80s Soviet-Afghan (US by proxy) war. Too bad many of the character buildup was only met with a "oh he just died off camera don't worry about him anymore". That and as far as I can tell the entire movie only had one song to use and it never really fit the scene like it did the opening panoramas of Afghanistan. The battles looked like pitch battles and did not convey any sense of "this is an actual battle". All the muj were just marching in line formation like it was the 1400s. The firing of weapons at the enemies never connected with hits on target. In other words: the fighting done by both sides looked like smoke and noise and the film made everyone look like two kids slapping each other to only call it a fist fight. Oh and lets give the artist kid a ****ing SVD and then when he's finally in country he never appears to have a weapon apart from his canvas. Couldn't connect with the characters at all and the action was just ****.

It was entertaining, the love story was a bit lame and undeveloped, the POW camp part was lolwut, and there wasnt much in terms of character development, but it was a cool movie. I like WWII movies, and seeing one that featured flying was pretty cool. The intro was super cool, one of my biggest fears is flying, so when the bombers were getting shot down and crashing it made me freak out a bit, but it was a fun movie. If you have some spare time one night its definitely worth a watch.
