Question DM14 XX New Owner - Need help

Hello Dye Users,

I recently purchased a used Dye DM14 XX and it seems to be in great shape. The purchase did not come with a manual or any instructions. Since I am currently a Tippman user - I have no idea how to tinker with the Dye at all.

I would like to know how to adjust the velocity and overall how to maintain the marker. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated as I am hoping to use it the next time I am out. I don't want to look like a total beginner with the new DM14

I did manage to find the online manual, but I felt that it still left some questions unanswered, such as the velocity question above. Almost all YT videos are reviews or just straight up gameplay.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers

Velocity is adjusted thru the hpr (front grip)

Go to YouTube and search dm14. Many videos there can help with maintenance and tuning.

Hello,
Thanks for the replies. I have watched quite a few different reviews and tutorials. I think I will just get the marker tech'd at the paintball field first and then begin maintaining it. I don't fully understand all the 'dwell', 'LPR' and other stuff.

Thanks

Grats on your DM14! Most important maintainence on any DM is lube(I like Lurker Lube). Not too much just a light coating and you'll be all set! And high quality batteries too!

Enjoy!

Thank you!
I have quite a few regular 9v batteries. Will they be ok or is there a special brand to purchase?

Lube it lite, every day of play and it'll work great for a long time.

I would not worry about the dwell, run the factory settings and break the marker in before you try and change the settings. Everybody has their own preferences on how to tune a DM, but I personally like to bump the dwell up 1-2 ms and tune with the lpr and a chrono.

I've run every DM I've owned at 21 dwell. I find it lets me drop the LPR just a bit lower which of course saves a bit of air. It also gives you a nice smooth shot, lower operation pressure which is good for brittle paint and no bolt stick issues ever.

Set it and forget it type of thing.

When you have a tech go over the marker, sit there with them and have them explain what they are doing and why. Super easy after you do it a couple times
