it's not racist at all. I believe it's just a genetic thing where they are more prone to the painful shaving bumps on the face. The dome is another story, and not as sensitive as the face. Although there are different shaving methods and products that can fix that, but hey, I'd rather not shave if i didn't have too lol.
I went through ALS with a guy from the med squadron who had a shaving waver that somehow ALSO said he was allowed to groom it. So he'd come in with perfectly lined up sideburns, goatee, etc. Now that was complete BS, and the instructors knew it, but his waiver said he could groom it

It has something to do with their facial hair growing in curly that when shaved creates ingrown hairs and massive irritation.
I know this because I had a friend who was half black and had issues when he shaved. He went in to get a waiver for it and they told him he wasn't black enough. Doctors words.

anyone else know a few chicks who need to shave...we have this MSgt here who can grow a better mustache than I can.
As for the black dudes on waivers, I'm sure there are quite a few who have a waiver because they can get away with it...I get gnarley shaving bumps when I use a razor which is why I use an electric razor. for some reason I dont get the irritation but, I would never ge a waiver lol....doctor would laugh in my face most likely.

I will say I get mad bumps when shaving with a razor everyday.
And my face gets all jacked up
Yet I manage to find a way to shave.
No excuse. If you don't wanna shave. Get out of the military
When I had wisdom teeth taken out
Got percs. They made me puke like crazy. Which sucks especially with holes in your mouth

Basically, your biggest investment is the razor.. But after that you an buy a 2 year supply of blades for about $20. The shaving soap is roughly the same price as shaving crame. And you should buy a shave brush too. It takes a bit longer in the morning than electric or cartridge (about 5-8 minutes for me) but it is 100% worth it price wise and comfort wise.
There is a slight learning curve, but not too bad. Plus the manliness factor makes you feel awesome.

My wife has got me some home made shaving soap that's pretty good
But I've been using the same electric razor for 3-4 years

Electric razor always seemed to hurt my face. I found out why...
Electric razors mangle the **** out of your hair, and razors tend to slice.

Cool. Compare the prices. A lot of those stores are good at jacking up prices.

Definitely. If anything I'll probably grab that razor you linked and go to the store for some blades, brush/cup and soap. It's DC...everything is price jacked so I think either way I'm boned.
So...no homo, since I'm a cyclist, it's frowned upon if you don't shave you legs...wonder how DE shaving would feel on the ole legs...lol.

I've been wanting a safety razor for a long time, but at the moment I'll hold off on it. Cartridges always irritated my face, and at the moment I use an electric. I like it honestly. No irritation, nice and quick. It doesn't leave the closest shave but since I'm not grizzly bear faced it works for me.

I have heard lots of women who use the DE to shave their legs. I am sure it will work nicely for you.

I use a normal cartridge razor currently but am working on shaving with a straight razor. Proper prep is everything. My routine is shower or hot wet towel, preshave oil, lather with a brush and dish (don't use anything out of a can) one pass with the grain, relather, one pass against the grain, wipe with a cold towel to close the pores, apply moisturizer. Clean close shave and no irritation.
