How to Re-Mold Flex Bottoms

This thread explains how you can easily mold back your messed up Flex bottoms. Well its actually quite simple you can do one of two things.

1. Remove the bottom of the mask from the top. Flip up the bottom lip of the mask just about as far as you can go without hurting the mask. Turn on a light and put the mask fairly close to it (not to close because you will either catch the mask on fire, or melt it to beyond repair). Leave the mask to sit near the light for several hours (i.e. when your at school). Shut the light off and flip the lip back on the mask to its original position, your mask should now be back to its original form. It might take more than one try with this method though.

2. Remove the bottom of the mask form the top. Get a hair dryer and put it on medium/ high heat. Now from a couple inches away keep waving it back and forth over the rubber lip of the mask. You will notice that the rubber gets softer the longer you wave the hair dryer over it, now carefully with your other hand fold the mask back to its original form. Be careful not to burn your hand. This also works faster with a heat gun (very dangerous, I don't recommend).

3. Remove the bottom of the mask from the top. Boil water in a fairly large pot, and place the mask bottoms in the boiling water for the amount of time needed for them to go back to their original shape.

Or you can just put the bottoms in a pot of boiling water.

when you put it in the boiling water, do you just place it in the water and it form by itself or do you put it in the water and mould it manually?

I put it in the water then take out after a minute or so then mold myself then repeat if needed.

Don't do any of these with IZE's, they will shrink. I've had 3 bottoms shrink already because of heat.

I'm glad you just posted this.

My old Black IZE bottoms are not in good shape, I was about to boil them later today to reform them. Serves me right for storing them like an idiot a couple seasons ago and not touching them until now.

How can you reform IZE bottoms then? I have mine stretched out and clipped down, sitting under sunlight most of the day for a couple weeks now hoping that'll get it somewhat back to its orginal shape.

I haven't had any problems molding my IZE bottoms with boiling water... granted I just dip them in real quick and pull on them, and then quickly dip them again. Works for me everytime and they dont shrink (I have molded green, red, brown, IZE bottoms this way, I haven't tried it with the other colors.)

Just a quick question. How do bottoms get messed up? Is it because people bend the bottoms upward to communicate better, or do Flex's eventually just start to deform in time? Please PM me someone i really need to know before i buy a pair of ProFlex's.

Lets say you leave them packed too tightly in a gearbag, they can bend one way and stay in that shape for a while. Its pretty eay to get them back to normal, Flex Bottoms are just really soft and light

Not a big problem.
