you don't need the plastic clearcoat because the normal clearcoat sticks to the paint

hey, i'm going to do this tomorrow. and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to let it dry in a warm dry place ie: oven on low with the door open.

so i.... clean my mask very well with OOPS. i'll apply a light layer of adhesion promoter and let it sit in the oven for a while. i'll tape it up. then i'll follow ace's method of patient painting with white DUPLI-COLOR, about 7 light coats. and then 2 coats of clear coat. and i think i'll let it sit in the oven over night.

what do you think?

I know most people don't have access to this but, there's this stuff called Mathew's Spray Bond, it's for bonding automotive paint to plastic. I used PPG paints which are normally used on cars along with the clearcoat. This gives me way more color options and the ability to add airbrushed effects. This is my proto I did using a white basecoat and the color is medium aluminum gold. If you know anyone who paints cars they can do this. Or if you want i can do it. Just pm me.

Spray 7-8 thin coats at 8-12 inches away from the surface. Let it dry overnight.

use plastidip rubber coating spray, it sticks better to the lower part of the mask and is absolutly the best rubber/plastic paint around. will never chip (does peel if you try really hard.... use an exacto after you mask areas off)

she bends with no problems!

remeber guys, plastidip.... you saw it here first!
