My wife and I have two Dachshunds- rat-weasels as I like to call them. She has a Female Piebald and I just got a Female longhair black/tan.

My wife's does up and down off the furniture quite a bit. The pup is too little but she still tries.

Oh yeah, Mine does. I call it "The Attack of the Flying Dachshund" when he does. We joke all the time saying we should put a cape and some goggles on him, and send him to the Circus.

xxinvision, my girlfriend's family had a dachsund who got up to about 18 pounds. She dropped to about 16 pounds in two months on Iams weight control food. I'd give it a try, it's not too expensive at Wal-Mart. One 40 pound bag lasted the entire time. She's now maintaining her weight.
