Oh look ,you did. I think CJ has more to do with the Titans success than Young. He is ripping it out there and forcing teams to account for him every time he is on the field. I would argue CJ has led his team to 5-0, not Young.

Not to burst your bubble, but the Cards actually do have a really legit defense, especially against the pass.

Just sayin...

You would, or you are? Seems like you are arguing that.

Yes, I am arguing that. I believe CJ has more to do with the success of the Titans than Vince Young does. If you are going to say that someone is leading that team, I say its CJ.

Then I would say Adrian Peterson has more to do with the Vikings winning. The QB is still the leader, no matter how you cut it.

What about the 2000 Ravens? Not all teams look to their QB for leadership. I agree that most teams do and traditionally they have, but there are times where the QB is not the leader. Defenses can lead a team and running backs can carry the load for a team.

I can't say with certainty that VY isn't leading the team emotionally, but I think in terms of what is done on the field, CJ is carrying the load for the most part.

Adrian is no doubt the center of that offense. If defenses bring 8 guys into the box, he'll catch balls on screens and favre will air it to rice down the center of the field... If they play down-field, adrian is going to slice the d up for 200 and a pair.

Not taking anything away from favre though, that offense wouldn't be the same if sage or tavaris (sp?) were at the controls.

Look, I was the last person to climb on the VY bandwagon, but without him, they're 0-6. With him they're 5-0. I dont know what IT is that he gives this team, whether its a spark, keeping plays alive that much longer, or maybe he's just *GASP* better then Kerri Collins! Could it be Collins has regressed and was hidden last year by the ridiculous running game they had? Quite possibly IMO.

I'm not saying VY is in the HOF, not even close. The thread was obviously a conversation starter, not meant to be taken quite literally, but at the same time, this is VY territory and he does have a knack for late game heroics. Ask USC, the Giants, Texans, and now the Cards. And I'm sure I missed a few along the way.

I think we should look at the Kerri Collins situation. Maybe Collins is an old QB who was never that great and had an amazing defense and running game last year.

I think VY has to beat SD or Indy before the season is over to really prove himself. Until then, I am not sold on VY. Arizona and Houston are good teams, but I don't think they are in the top 5-7 of the league. I find it hard to gauge VY because of the strong running game behind him. Before this week he has only needed 25 attempts or less and has had 2 wins this year with 12 completions.

As much as I hate to say it because I loved him in College and I'm glad he's getting his head screwed back on right, Vince Young is going to get a rude awakening to his triumphant return next Sunday.

Count it!!!!

12-0 Bay Bay!

For all the crap that Young gets (unconventional throwing motion, going nuts last year, yada yada yada.) I've always enjoyed watching his games, I was never a fan of Collins and honestly I agree with most of you, with CJ in the backfield it DOES make it easier to manage the game when the D isn't solely focusing on pummling you into the ground.

That being said Vince does have a winning record as a qb in the NFL but he really does need to beat a team along the lines of Indy, SD or NE to solidify himself as a genuine threat at the qb position not just another flash in the pan.

Having a winning record is usually reflectve of the TEAM not the individual. There are some QBs that do the majority of the work like Manning, but look at Cassel. He had a winning record, went 11-5 last year. He's in KC now, haven't heard one good thing about him since.

It's all about a consistant high level of play. Young has not played at a high level consistantly, he is usually a game manager who can use his legs. It might be exciting, but I think of tenessee could get a true top 10 QB they could be similar to the current Vikings squad.

To address the issue of the OP, no way we can put him in that conversation yet. That said, VY has done some pretty good things so far this year, and has proven many people including myself wrong. He's a great story, but that story is still being written. Stay tuned to see how it turns out

Probably none because no good qb's team would start 0-6, just because he came into an 0-6 team means nothing.

Well I guess we'll see what happens when they play Indy next weekend. Hopefully the Colts can find it in themselves to play football for more than one quarter.

I might be wrong, probably not though, but I believe VY has more 4th quarter comebacks than Brady this season amirite?
