Exactly.
The 3.1 is just a geo 3 with the AT Pipe kit and beefier grips.

So you could hold a geo 3 and a 3.1 next to each other and do a review/efficiency test. (On both) In perfect conditions where both were lubed, cleaned, etc the same internally, and tuned the same. At the same time.

You would get the same exact efficiency, shot quality, noise signature. And everything else exactly as it was on the geo 3. It just doesn't have macro line.

Where the GSL bolt system is modified and changed from the Geo 3 generation, and is what the Geo 4 generation will be built upon.

The harder a gun is to clean, the better the milling.

Just picked up a new GEO3.1 today. The gun is really nice. Shot "feel" and handling (single tube) of a GEO (which I prefer) and the gas thru and rubber portions for an LV1. Perfect combination, IMO. The clean milling lines of the GEO3 look great and I think it's a very sharp looking gun in all back. I shot a couple cases through it today and it works great.

Simply pulling up on the top rubber half unhinges it from the bottom rubber piece. Would really like stronger construction so that the rubber halves stay together better. Other than that small inconvenience it's one of the better feeling guns in the hands on the market by far.
