The best case is no case.

It is free, and I never get overheating issues.

Real first world problems.

Just connect everything together on a cardboard box... while you are waiting for your case. Make sure everything is working... and you can even install windows. If something is wrong with any components... you can get it RMA'd before installing in your case.

That's not a bad idea. Don't the components get too hot though?

Rebel: Google PS3 controller with PC. You need a program (can't remember the name), the usb charge cable, and the controller.

probably the best investment I ever made in computers. My processor is staying at 29c, most of my other components are in the 31-34 range and my comps been on for past 5 days straight with massive amounts of stuff running, while leaving BF3 on in the back

Very nice.
I've been thinking about getting one for a while. For possible overclocking down the road.

I know your GPU has a built in cooling fan, and I thought you are using the stock cooler for the CPU?

It should still cool the same... but should run a bit cooler since it's not in the case where warm air can be trapped. The case usually comes with an exhaust fan in the back to pull warm out, and some cases have a side panel fan the pulls cool air in. Testing your system outside of the case... should run a little cooler. I was just suggesting to test all your components outside the case to make sure your compenents are working... and maybe install Windows... so when you get your case, you can install everything and play.

True. I'll probably wait the one day until the case comes. Maybe not, who knows. If I get it running, I'll want to keep it running lol.

I'd recommend a 360 controller for PC gaming as its essentially established itself as "the" gamepad for PC's in terms of games recognizing it and supporting it.

I got a wireless Xbox 360 for Windows controller for my PC. Mainly bought it for my kid since I don't want him touching my mechanical keyboard... LOL... Glad I got it though for AC Revelations and Batman Arkham City. I suck at punching and hand to hand combat with a keyboard and mouse. It works for BF3, but I like using WASD for FPS/shooter games.

Man, there is a lot to peripherals that I didn't know. Up until a year ago, a mouse and keyboard was a mouse and keyboard. Now there are categories.

Another reason I decided to build a new computer... I wanted to learn about all the new hardware and trends out there. It's easy to lose track of everything when you are just a user.

It's even easier when you were never concerned with it in the first place. I'm pretty excited to pick up a new hobby, and fortunately I'm starting off with half decent parts.

It's okay... most popular games are ported from console games... so you are ahead of the curve.

All I play right now is MW3, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Left 4 Dead 2. I will pick up skyrim and BF3 as soon as I can.

Working my way through Dead Island and MW2 right now. The Mass Effect series is next on my list, I've been quite excited for that one.
