I am 14, and i am going to be working as an office assistant this summer with my mother, where i all that i have to do is some of the company's filing and other little tasks that will help out.
The hours aren't too bad 8 hours a day, and if i just want to chill out i can. The pay is going to be like 8-9 an hour and for 14 that is AWESOME!

if you live anywhere near socal in the santa clarita valley the best job has to be working at magic mountain/hurricane harbor.
pay went up from 6.75 - 8.00 an hour and if your 16 you can get 8 hours a day 5 days a week during the summer.
but lifeguarding is good too
im working at hurricane this summer, 9 an hour and they close earlier than magic so you get nights off
woo
and magic never ever ever in my experience turned someone down

Yea I do that part time right now on my days off from college, Administrative Assistant for a engineering consulting firm for a construction company. Coordinate office supplies, make copies, scan & file material stuff, lot of little things. But it works, I'm on a day rate of $150, $110 per day per diem and 50 miles a day at 48.5 cents a mile. Well over $35 an hour for a part time job ain't that bad, lol.

I'm certainly baised, but my suggestion has always been to take advantage of your highschool's tech certification programs. A friend of mine got his CCNA in highschool and was able to land a job for $65k right off the bat, no degree. Many schools offer these programs (typically for A+ or CCNA) and they're your fastest track to a decent income without going to college.

Then I do a thorough washing again of just water to wipe it out again
then I get some liquid was and wipe down the car with it in CIRCULAR motion
Do the hood then move onto another part of the car but come back to the hood RIGHT AFTER it and wipe it down with a towel. You do NOT want it to stick to the car.
After that you just give it just a quick wash down of water then your done on the outside
If you want to go even farther you can get some leather cleaner and use it on there and just do that and if you want to go EVEN FARTHER you can use some rain-x and do that.
I ususally charge about 75 dollars for sedans and tiny cars but for SUVs and trucks I usualy charge 125.I make several thousand a summer and all this takes is 4 hours for one car.You can even do it do 2 cars a day and still have hours to mess around at night.I love this and you manage your own hours!I say this is one of the best....but I also live near alot of old people who love me so I guess they just give me work

I pump gas at a marina in the summer. Kinda boring, but it's outside and there's always something/one good to look at. Pay is about 10 dollars plus tips. Also it's good because the lake I work on is a "rich person" lake for the majority of people on it, so it's a good way to meet some people who might be beneficial to know later.
Just an idea

Kmart FTW!
Lol get 7.15 and do pretty much nothing just stock some stuff , do carry outs and grab carts once a day.
Edit: My friend just got a job at a local hospital cleaning dish and other random stuff. Not really the funniest place to work but hes getting $9 an hour to start.
Also if you live in the WNY area Mighty Taco pays you $8.15 to start.

Thank's for posting this. I am going to get certified as a life guard because there is a public pool like 2 block's from my house. And I would really love to work there over the summer.

Golf caddying is by far the best. You make 50 per bag and probably just as much in tips where I'm going to caddy. So thats about 300 per week if you work 3 days.

Coach a sport you have background in, it can be very profitable and a very fun job. You already have experience, so in most cases it's just a matter of writing a state/province test and taking first aid/emergency courses.
I coach sailing, which is pretty easy and very fun, since I love the sport myself. First year I mad $10 an hour, this year I'll be making $14.50 an hour, and some of my friends are making up and over $20 an hour. This is a full time job in the summer, 40 hour weeks plus overtime (fixing damaged boats, etc.). There is also the possability of doing private lessons after the daily program is over - These pay anywhere from $15-30/hour per person/boat.
Secondly, I coach skiing in the winter. Pay is lower, at around $9-12 an hour, but you also get paid for each lesson you do (Normally about half of what the hill sells the lessons for). There are also bonuses to this job, such as free season pass (which can be up to $1000 at some hills), discounts on clothing and equipment, along with discounts on food. You can usually work part time on the weekends, or evenings on weekdays if you're lucky.
Both sailing and skiing do require a lot of specialized training to be a certified coach. The courses for sailing cost me about $500 my first year, and $300 this year (first year was more expensive because I needed things such as first aid/CPR, boat rescue, etc. all of which last between 3 and 5 years before having to be renewed). This year required a national level course to upgrade my coaching level. Skiing is slightly cheaper, I can't remember the exact cost of everything, but several courses overlapped for me so I didn't need them for skiing specifically. One specific course ran me about $90.
Coaching jobs in general have very laid back coworkers, great year-end parties, and very relaxed work environments. Plus, you get to spend your time doing what you love, usually outdoors.
Again, these jobs are seasonal, but can provide enough income in their seasons to easily last a high-schooler until the next season.
Another good job could be repairing or working on computers. Places like Geek-Squad etc. overcharge and usually don't do a good job/rip you off, so if you can get a small business going doing this, it can be a goldmine. Set your own hours, and you can make upwards of $40/hour depending on the service being provided.
General tip: Take the things you enjoy and are good at; and use them to make money. You'll profit while having a good time.
