From people that have been involved in the industry, been around a million years, and posted on this topic a thousand times. It is the standard number for production as of now.

If a few Producers own the entire industry then they can be in collusion and keep their prices at a fixed level as to maximize their profits while keeping the other safe. As there are no other producers they can produce any product they want as it is the only choice. They can charge whatever price they want because they are the only producers.

When the market becomes extremely profitable then new companies will enter the industy and produce substitutes to the traditional companie's product. Prices go down and quality goes up as competition comes back into the market.

Yeah, that always happens, especially with the FTC, huh.

Well at 8000/hr paintballs would be made at about 2 1/5 balls/second. At the speed they were being encapsulated in the video, I can belive this figure. Seems hella slow though, compared to other types of machines. I mean, look at the almost ancient cotton gin. Seems like it's moving a lot faster than the wheels on the encapsulating machine. Last I heard, some company was on its way to creating balls at a cheaper price. Rumors can be rumors, though.

Their highest costs are in field fees, $10-$25 and they do fine and can play often.

As it stands now encapsulating machines are limited to 8000 paintballs in one hour. So this machine, an encapsulating machine
costs: $5k-10k a unit perhaps. This machine is pumping out cases at 4/hr. At 8hours a day, 5 days a week the machine pumps out 160 cases in perfect working conditions. This case is then sold to stores/suppliers at prices depending on the order, but say $25 a case. The $25 number comes as the manufacturer makes profit and fulfills its cost.
.

and remember not every paintball is manufactured without flaws. but I aslo think with techknowledgy today the machines have much much higher numbers of production

You can't play paintball without paint so companies can charge what ever the consumer is willing to pay. People are willing to pay $50 a case so why sell at a lower cost? I'll have to admit though $70 just for a day of paintball is a little expensive but what ever. At least the price of gear has gone down.

I believe he stated "as it stands now", meaning that that is a current encapsulating machine. And sorry but..."technology."

You can get your gear made in Taiwan, but not your paint. Draxxus' encapsulating machines are much larger and much more epxensive than the picture shown on the previous page.

Yes, I know there is one company that produces paint overseas, but those are just horrid.

that may be true, but paint is were most fields are making their money... most fields can get their paint for $25-35 depending on who your supplier is. if you mark it up to $60 thats what... $25-35 profit... many proshops/fields are struggling due to online sellers, so they have to make their money somewhere, and guess what, that somewhere is paint...

At my paintball store they have some okay paint for $27 a case. It isn't the best but brakes on impact and not the gun.
