Sometime within the next week we are going to be taking the server and sending it to our beloved system admin KrON. When he receieves it he is going to be putting the hardware and new motherboard into a rackmount case so that it can be put in a colocation building.
What does this mean to you? The site is going to be down for a few days and after it comes back online we will have a bigger better server to host the nation.
This is a move that has to happen in order for us to keep up with the growth of the site. We are constantly becoming larger and need to keep up with the increased traffic.
Just try other sites. Review, IPR, PBC...... if anything I'd suggest IPR. Hell, it pretty much started it all for the paintball forums. It's the granddaddy of 'em all. Only now it's org (meaning www.paintballresource.org ). Long story.
But I was wondering. With needing a new server for more traffic, site keeps growing. Doesn't this remind anybody else of some other site? Hmmmmmm!

Notice a pattern? It's called positive growth! The only way we can keep up with it is with moves like this. This is a *BIG* step for the site, and unfortunately it's also when things start getting expensive.
BUT we're not going to go in the direction of other sites, you have OUR word on it.
I must say, it's going to suck when the nation shuts down. I spend alot of time on here. I like this site more than the others. I've been a member on review since april of last year and thought that was the only pb site around. Boy was I wrong. I've been to them all IPR, PBC, review, automags.org, and the Nation is definitely the best!! The moderators are better and the design on the site is awesome. Although i did like the blue lettering better. But when the nation is down, I'll probably spend my time back on pbreview.com, but I will come back the second nation comes back alive.
