With the Axe, nobody ever would pay more than a $200 more than what a stock Axe is worth no matter what you do to it, simply because you would be wasting money when you could get a higher end marker.
It is far more likely that someone buys a marker that is stock at $1100 and is highend than for someone to purchase a cool looking mid end for $1100.
I wouldn't expect you to understand, being a 2k12'er.

You seem to be upset and personally offended that someone would do a custom Axe. But heres some food for thought;
Drew is fully sponsored by Empire/Kee and also by the person that does not want to be named that milled the marker. Not sure why you think he paid anything for this beyond his time and input.

Yeah, I think the only ones so far are the ones we posted and then linked to Drew. The pros start playing tomorrow though so we should see more soon.

If you paid him to do this:
Custom milling (guessing) = $300+
Custom ano (again, guessing) = $300+
Price of the stock marker... $300-400...
It's like upgrading an Ion... No matter what you do to it, it's still an Ion.
Do it to a Geo3, Vapor, etc... Then it'd be cool...
from me.

I don't get people, the axe shoots great I have one that I'll probably never get rid of. I have owned pretty much every high end gun and anyone saying that they shoot much differently than an axe is high.

+1 same here, I actually prefer how the axe shoots compared to some of my previous high ends.
Looks awesome Drew!

Haters gonna hate. Finger the join date fool you. I've been out shooting people with less than the axe since 94. My axe performs everybit as good as any highend and my ONLY complaints are the stock board not saving settings between battery changes and no OLED/LCD. This gun moves. Durability is unbelievable, the finish is nice, and programming is fairly simple. So go spend 1200$ on a new marker I'll buy another axe and take the 700$ I saved and buy more paint/gear/beer/bathsalts :-)

It is the same reason why rich people move into a house and rips out a perfectly good kitchen. Because they can and want. As long as they are happy, your 2 cents doesn't really bother them.

Two questions:
1. Would I buy this Axe from someone who has paid for the customization (or maybe didn't pay, but is asking for more than a stock Axe)? No. In this case, the marker is not worth more than its original price, regardless of what you add to its looks. You are the only person who can put a value on its worth - to you, and nobody else.
2. Do I like the customization? Yes. Very nicely done, although I wonder if aftermarket milling like this (which is more than Kohn engraving by comparison) affects its entry for tourney play. I don't know if this is true or not, which is why I'm curious to know if anyone has the answer - how much modification is permitted, and at what point does it disqualify a marker for use?

who gives a **** about whether its a $1800 or a f-ing $100 marker. It's all about preference, the guy likes what he likes and that thing is pretty damn sweet. Nice marker man!

Infamous shoots the Empire Axe. If it's the only gun they can shoot, good for them to have variations of it or spend more money on their marker.
And you realize that if this gun is an actual private label and not a 1 of 1 custom gun, it won't cost that much?
But I guess you can't expect someone that joined in 2k6 to know that.

1. A nicely upgraded Ion will garner greater efficiency and consistency than a Geo2.1 if they were running off the same air source and regulator. Their weight can even be compared to that of one as well.
2. Not enough meat for something this awesome on a Geo3.
3. Not sponsored by anyone for guns other than Empire themselves... sooo, what's the point to do it to a gun which won't be discounted for the work put into it and for one he won't be able to shoot anyways?
4. Being as he's a professional, and through other underlying reasons, don't you think it'd be cheaper for him to do it anyways?
5. Perhaps he just loves the gun that much? If he's willing to make it worth the money he's put into it, it's obviously much more worth owning (at least to him, but surely many others) than some shoddily milled Geo3 or luxe or what have you.
It's ok, you should learn eventually... unless you quit the sport too soon to find out.

Same reason people mod their ****ty econo boxes, because they can and there is nothing wrong with it. Well nothing wrong with it if it's done right.
