Can we run it like a mini-tournament like we did last year or at least restrict it to 5 on 5?

Thanks.

20th. It was originally scheduled for the 27th and was changed recently.

Yuck, why ruin a good day of rec play like that?

I say rearrange the bunkers so that there are more in the back and fewer in the middle so we can get some proper 10 on 10 games so there's less waiting. That would get me to make the long drive.

because that's based on the feedback from the players from the last two events. you know the ones you never made it to...

Wait time to play has never been an issue, there are always players ready & willing to play. limiting it to 5 on 5 allows for more movement and balance in games. With two many players on the field and not enough bunkers it becomes target practice until one team is widdled down and then crushed. When we did 5 on 5s last year games ran fast, and we were able to rotate quickly. Infact you could argue you get MORE playing time, because if you're shot out right away in a 10 on 10+ game you'll have to wait longer for another match.

The indoor field is simply too small to do much over 5 on 5, lets save those games for the summer when we can play outdoors on more unique fields.

Oh I agree you'll need more bunkers, hence the suggestion for rearrangement.

That's the issue. I rather like games that drag on a little. Games that end quickly feel a bit unsatisfying. And if you can manage to set things up where the maximum game size is more than half of the number of players present you have a situation where a few of the players shot out early can stay in for the next game. Too small of team size and you end up with 3 or 4 rotations, which you're stuck watching. For tournaments I love small teams (three man was a blast), but when playing for fun I say cram as many players in as possible. I've played larger games on smaller fields plenty of times.

I had plans last time due to the holiday weekend, though missing the first one was totally my fault.

But if the events ends up nothing more than a thinly disguised "practices", well, my interest is declining.

If you want to "try-hard" with pump guns, come to open play on Sundays and do so. Or better yet, play tournaments with pump guns.

If you want to play laid-back pump games, come to pump night.

Don't start with the "feed-back". That's jargon for WHINERS.

I'll see everyone on the 20th that wants to come out and shoot at each other with pumps and pistols.

Movement is what makes pump fun, either way I'm in. Just merely making a suggestion on how to run things efficiently. The first pump night we had last year was by far the best run night.

Turn out has been good, and anyone who is interested in trying pump should come out. We will try to carry on the tradition into the summer month at larger locations where 20 on 20+ will be encouraged
