Barrel Front Size?

Hey guys I'm gonna be matching my own barrel for my old ViewLoader High Voltage (yes I know cheap gun). I'm just getting back into the sport and am gonna be building my own gun eventually but to start just making a barrel. I know what size I need to make the back but I've never seen barrel front sizes any where. Anyone know what it should be? Same size as the back or 0.003-0.006 bigger?

Thanks!

Do you intend for it to be interchangeable with other backs?

Not really. Its easier to accurately make a 2 piece over a 1 piece. I would rather only at most make 2 different sizes

Are you referring to the bore size? I don't know what the front bore size is, but it's larger then any back as the back is the control bore. Long story short ive been playing for well over a decade and never worried about the bore of the front. If you are referring to length, obviously you can get about any size from 10 inches to like 20 inches in total length. I prefer 14 to 16 total length. Hope this helps.

Hey Brooks, yep I meant that Bore size. I'm gonna be making me own barrel here in the next couple weeks but I don't know what the front bore is supposed to be on a 2 piece barrel. I'll probably make the back a 0.689 to start, but I don't know if the front is supposed to be a the same size or 0.003-0.006 bigger or something like that, overall length would be 14.

I would err on the larger side. Too small and you may get barrel breaks.

I think I saw somewhere that the shaft 4 fronts are .70 or something close to that.

Yeah I would go with at least a .696 for the front. That's the largest control bore size I've ever seen. The .7 would probably be a good number though.

Most fronts are like .700 or .710

Stella Barrels are the only manufacturer I know of that offers different sized fronts ( .697, .689, and .683 )
